I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment with the experience I had at the Petco in Homestead. On August 16th, I visited the store and purchased a blood-red bearded dragon with the assistance of sales associate Shamya. Unfortunately, everything following that initial transaction was handled in an unprofessional, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable manner. As a teacher in Homestead, I had promised my students this pet for the classroom. What should have been an exciting and positive experience instead turned into a month-long ordeal marked by miscommunication, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. To outline the issue clearly: I was originally told the animal would arrive on August 27th, then the date changed to September 5th and then the 15th 3X in total. At no point did I receive the animal as promised. Tracking information later showed that the bearded dragon had been received in Texas, A DAY AGO. & yet the store failed to proactively investigate or communicate this to me. I was left waiting for weeks without any clarity, only to be met with aggression and annoyance whenever I called for updates. Despite my intention to use the Pets in the Classroom coupon, I was never able to because of the sales associate’s uncertainty and the mishandling of the transaction. The entire situation not only put my money at risk but also wasted an enormous amount of my time and created false expectations for my students. It is extremely disappointing that a company of Petco’s size would allow such a poor level of service to occur at one of its locations. On the other hand, when I visited the Cutler Bay Petco around the same time, associate JJ provided excellent service, ensured that I was assisted properly, and ultimately helped me obtain the bearded dragon I was looking for. His professionalism highlights just how poorly the Homestead store handled this situation by comparison.
Also wanted to say I emailed the district manager.. kindly waiting for...
Read moreOf course Petco in any state is Petco. Whatever you need for your pet you'll find here. Some of the prices are pretty much the same as anywhere else from what I find. With the exception of the Old Stock that they might have on sale, especially for cats and dogs. I really do love the place. The only Quan I have is that they have a veterinarian but which you can get access through Petco itself. I felt a little offended by the fact that I asked if they had any vaccinating packages. For example like they do downtown Miami where for $90 you get various shots for your dog and the license and the checkup. The young woman at the front desk said oh no my dear we do not offer that. And then she gave me information and referred me to the dog clinic up in Homestead near where I live which is set up in a park from a mobile truck. Was she suggesting I couldn't afford it? Cuz she didn't give me any of the details. Refer me to a website, or even give me a list on what the prices are for example check up, rabies shop, deworming, or any other services. When I walked in and looked professional but I wasn't treated as though I was addressed by a profession. If any of you have ever been there and actually got services I suggest that you make some posts to share with the rest of us. I'm sure I'm not the first person who feels like this that has gone there for their dog or inquired. Nevertheless bear in mind they're attached to Petco, but it doesn't say Petco veterinarian. Update to come....
Read moreI’ve been bringing my mini Goldendoodle to this Petco for grooming for the past 2–3 years. I started with Robin, and she eventually referred me to her daughter, Vivian, to help achieve the teddy bear look for my dog. While I’ve continued coming for convenience, there’s consistently been small issues, such as the tail or ears not being cut properly. I’ve always mentioned it politely, never made a fuss, and just let it go.
However, during my most recent visit, I brought up some concerns from the previous grooming session and even showed a picture for reference. Vivian became immediately defensive, raised her voice, and was dismissive of my feedback. I stayed calm and tried to explain that I just wanted to avoid the same mistakes, but instead of listening, she told me she was no longer comfortable grooming my dog and that I’d need to find someone else.
The manager got involved and was equally unprofessional and loud. The entire situation felt hostile and unnecessary. I was simply voicing concerns as a paying customer, hoping for better results. Instead, I was met with attitude and disrespect in front of other customers.
I won’t be returning. It’s unfortunate that basic feedback was met with such poor customer...
