First off, it's right smack in the middle of waikiki where all the action is and yet the staff and owner gave us a home away from home feel . Everything you need is within a 2 minute walking distance. Grocery store, street markets, eateries, shopping and best of all the beach. A day before checking in, Robert the office manager texted us in advance for any other request or requirements that we might need and if we needed transportation from the airport. We informed him what time we would be arriving. Robert checked us in and helped with the luggage. The room is spacious, clean. It has a kitchen with stove , full size refrigerator and microwave. The place my dad and liked to hang out was the balcony. The liveliness of the area was intoxicating. Thanks guys for making us feel like part of the family. I would definitely recommend this establishment to all my family and friends visiting Hawaii.

BEWARE. Cons: units are in bad condition - old, poorly managed, AC machines are continuously dripping water from the walls, cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom, guest wifi continuously down, thin walls and very loud at night both on the street side and corridor side, missing bedsheet (inconsistent housekeeping), persistent unpleasant smell; lots of trash in the back/entrance area, feels unsafe to leave the unit alone at night. Pros: one of the more affordable places in Waikiki, large units with full kitchen, location is convenient (walkable to beach, brunch, grocery, food hall, international market, canal).

Worst experience in Hawaii for renting out a hotel. This was my second time visiting Hawaii. We paid close to $200 a night due to season and the room wasn't even worth $80 a night in my opinion. The bed's had torn sheets and the fan above the bed looked like it had better days before. There's a 0.5 inch thick dust on it. TV in the room never worked it was there just for display. The bathroom needs a lot of attention as well. Oh and the horrible smell in the room that never went away. Random things were just laying around and some drawers were filled with trash. Attaching some pictures.

My fiancé and I had a great experience at the Hawaiian Ebbtide Hotel. We stayed for three nights to participate in the Susan G Komen 5K run at Kapiolani Beach Park. Mr. Kumai gave us a great deal basically worked out to $90 a night including parking. The rooms are long and narrow but have very nice kitchenettes with full stoves, microwave oven, fridge, toaster, cable TV and WiFi. Room comes with plates, cups Ana silverware for four people. There is a big air conditioner above the door which keeps the rooms cold! The beds are comfy but you might want to bring some nightmare. The rooms will get cold at night.

The hotel is one block from Waikiki Beach and less than a block away from the international shopping center. It has a small liquor store, a beauty shop, nails and tattoo shops in the hotel, so no need to go far for drinks or services. Security is good plus there are HPD patrols all hours of the day and night. The hotel has a gated parking lot. The owner will provide you with a garage-door opener-device to access the lot. He also has washer/drier service and employs people to clean and take care of the grounds.

There are two minor issues: The hotel is right on Kuhio Ave and has a lot of traffic noise with motorcycles, buses, loud cars and loud people passing by. Bring some ear plugs. Traffic does get calm around 2:00 am. While there is a lanai, there is no charming views. You're looking at traffic and other buildings, but if you're not there to gaze at life, you won't care!

The owner is real nice and will work with you! One more thing: he doesn't provide...

The Location of this hotel is AMAZING, 2 mins from the beach, 2 mins from the Food Pantry (super market), and Thebus stops on both sides of the street right outside the Hotel, on this bus you can travel pretty much anywhere for $2. The sleeping arrangements were not very good, although the queen bed was very comfortable, when we booked, we did ask for 2 x single beds, (or just 2 beds would have done) the concierge ended up giving us an air mattress which was placed on the floor, and the first one went down during the night. They manager did change the air bed with no problems, but we did pay good money for 2 beds, so an air mattress on the floor wasn't exactly what we were expecting. I would have liked to see more information about the area in books or travel guide magazines on arrival, but 2 mins from Waikiki beach, information was not hard to find. Over all the stay at the Ebbtide was pleasant, but not worth the money which we spent for 1 week...

My Mom booked this through Expedia for our recent trip to Hawaii. She was trying to get close to our hotel because it was sold out.

This place looks NOTHING like the pictures on here or any other booking sites.

Mismatched furniture, linens, curtains, and decor. Kitchen cabinets and shower (NOT BATHROOM) were obviously redone......nothing else. Cords dangling from places, sockets that were either fried or not working. One of the windows was cracked so they decided to use blue painters tape to “seal” it. Beds weren’t put together. The front door had a small window next to it at some point....now just a piece of plywood.

In addition to all of that: their screening criteria isn’t appropriate. Men outside their rooms drinking, smoking, yelling at people walking by. Got a “hostel” / skid row vibe from the people I saw. The people in the office seemed nice but, they have to know this is...
