This is a little local gem with a variety of fruit bowls and espresso, an absolutely must visit! Our hotel had free breakfast, yet we still opted for ALO cafe bowls 3 out of the 5 mornings as breakfast. Highlights: *Very friendly and incredibly helpful staff *Delicious acai bowl, lilikoi (passion fruit bowl) and an amazing dragon fruit bowl (called "Royal pink"). The fruit and ingredients they add to your bowl are top notch! *If not allergic, add the homemade peanutbutter to your bowl, you will not regret! *The dragon fruit bowl was to die for, especially if you are banana averse like i am *They give a free sample of the banana bread, TRY THE BANANA BREAD even if you are banana averse like i am *If you plan to come back, they have a little card with some free items after orders for 4 items (correct me if this is wrong, we lost the stupid card and yet still went to get the amazing bowls) *They also sell very special handmade hats, zipper bags, handbags, and some other small items that you can browse while waiting *TRY THE BANANA BREAD! (I hadn't had a banana bread in decades because I don't like the smell or taste of the bananas, but I inhaled half of the loaf here - it was absolutely incredible) Thank...

The first time I enjoyed my food very much. However, when I ordered it, I pointed out that the picture of the item had avocado. I was told the avocado was an additional charge. They pointed out that there was a sign that said it was extra. To me, this is disingenuous and smacks of false advertising. The second time I ordered the same item…only to have it come with no black beans. Was I to understand that black beans are extra to? I also had a latte made with spoiled milk. While this was corrected, one would think that the spoiled milk would have been noticed. Lastly, I noticed that the employee that took my payment at the register went back to the kitchen and prepared my meal without gloves or washing her hands. I was very excited that Honolulu had a vegan option. I love the concept, and my initial food was exceptional. Hopefully they will make a greater effort in the future. For the price, I would expect better, and more...

Aloha Hawaii Cafe – 4 Stars 📍Tucked just off the Waikiki Strip

This place was the perfect morning pick-me-up—and honestly, I didn’t even know I needed it until I walked in. I stopped by before heading out on an all-day island tour, and I’m so glad I did. They open bright and early at 7 AM, and by the time I got there at 7:05, there were already people waiting on their orders. That’s always a good sign!

I grabbed a small açaí bowl, which was just right for a light, energizing start to the day. They offer two sizes, which I appreciated—especially since I wasn’t sure how rich it would be. Spoiler: it was delicious.

The vibe inside is super cute and cozy, and the service was warm and friendly. It’s a great spot to stop by before heading to the beach or hopping on a tour—especially if it’s on your way.

Vegan Cafe ALO Cafe Hawaii Oahu, Honolulu, Waikiki Two stores down from Tina-a Nail shop where I had just had my nails done, ALO Cafe is an awesome little VEGAN cafe, take out only but they do have two stools outside you can sit on. I had the Açaí Bowl and it was delicious. Much better than the one I had at The Hawaiian Aroma Cafe Ohana East across the street. They also make their own vegan banana nut bread fresh daily. It is AMAZING!!!! And I’m not a vegan by any means. Plus they have a bunch of super cute local things to buy, like coasters, local art post cards/cards, decorated wood Hawaiian hangings, and local honey. Downside, they are only open 8-5, everyday. Definitely recommend!!
