Absolutely incredible! The only other comparable water sport I’ve tried was a two-day kiteboarding lesson and boy, that had been a lot of work! With kiteboarding I eventually got onto the board and went a fair distance but it was literally in the last 15 mins of the last day and my husband never managed to even get that far in his lesson. EFoil is COMPLETELY different - it felt like we were on our feet coasting within the first 15 mins! And no little bit was due to E Foil Waikiki’s ample preparation - they start with a fantastic instructional video they send you before the lesson so you can get familiar with the concepts ahead of time (and get you in the water faster on the day of your lesson). Then when you show up they start with a “ground school” - complete with balance boards so you can get a feel for things before needing to worry about holding your breath before a dunking. Ben, our instructor, was fantastic - his instructions were clear, concise, to the point, and it’s obvious he has a wealth of knowledge and comparable experiences in other sports to draw analogies from to help anyone who might have overlapping backgrounds. He’s obviously had many years of instructing others, and as an instructor in various disciplines myself, I very much appreciated the efficiency and efficacy of his teaching. While you do have radios for him to relay instructions to you, most of the time he is right there out on the water with you (bonus: he takes cool pics and videos of you at the same time! 🤙) I would absolutely go to E Foil Waikiki again for future “lessons” and rentals (we were told that most times, when it’s apparent the student knows how to handle themselves, they didn’t need much supervision in the future and so the “instruction” aspect tapers off and you can just start renting stuff on your own). My husband and I are hooked! (Bonus: I was within 6 ft of a turtle at one point when one unexpectedly surfaced right in front of me! 💕 Efoil is definitely the highlight of this trip for me!)

If you're looking for a unique and standout experience while you're in Oahu, do this!!! Everyone knows about the surfing and snorkeling you can do in Hawaii, but not many know about e-foiling. The feeling when you first "take flight" will bring a smile to your face! Once you get the hang of things and can maintain "flight," it feels like you're riding a hoverboard from Back to the Future. It's awesome. And words/videos don't do it justice - you gotta feel it yourself! I'd like to echo all of the other glowing reviews - what they say is true. Everything about the experience from start to finish was expertly designed by Ben, the instructor. The land instruction, radio helmet, and technique fine-tuning while you're on the water is brilliant. You'll be able to tell right away that Ben is an experienced instructor. Listen well, and he'll get you up to speed in no time. He went above and beyond during my lesson as well: 1) I had two family members with me, and he had some chairs available so they could watch comfortably on the shore. 2) He determined at one point that I was self-sufficient enough to try with less guidance, so he allowed me some free time to ride around on my own. I was thankful for this because that was a blast. Of course, he gave me some tips here and there as needed :) 3) He took the time to show me finer points of the anatomy of the e foil as well as share his thoughts about the particular model we were using. To summarize: add this unique activity to your list of things to do. It's awesome from start to finish and Ben is a great instructor!

If you are on the fence about booking this excursion, do it! My husband and I recently visited Waikiki and this was absolutely the highlight of our trip. We were looking for something fun to do for our adventure day and we narrowed our choices down to a surf lesson or eSurfing/eFoiling. Please keep in mind we are both in our mid 50s, so we were a little apprehensive if this would be a good choice. After talking with Ben, our instructor, he assured us we would have a great time and it would be perfectly safe. He was the most patient instructor and showed us how to safely use and maneuver the boards. Once we got in the water to try it, it was exhilarating! We had smiles on our faces the whole time. During our time on the water, Ben not only coached us side-by-side, but he also managed to take some amazing photos with his phone. Once we got back to shore, he airdropped them to us so we had wonderful memories to share with our friends and family. We are hooked, and will definitely do this again the next time we have a chance. After we returned to the mainland and shared the story of our experience with our friends, they were envious, as most had not even heard of eSurfing/eFoiling. This is definitely an emerging sport and we were so pleased to have been the “trend setters” among our friends! We highly recommend this to anyone looking for something to do for a few hours to get the real feel of Hawaii!

Took a lesson with my two sons, ages 15 and 19 and had a fantastic time. We came a little early and our instructor Ben was all set up and we launched into the beach instruction. He had a balance board on the sand to emphasize to us where to put our weight when getting up and turning. The boards we used were Takuma boards, very stable, excellent-for-beginner boards. They were in great condition and he emphasized safety. This is much easier than surfing. We all were able to get up within 10 minutes. Ben gave us helmets that had radio receivers in them so he could give us individual instructions when we needed it. This was extremely helpful and he could switch channels to instruct each of us separately. We quickly progressed from riding on our bellies to our knees to standing, then foiling. The hardest part (for me) was transitioning from standing up while the board is planing across the water, to consistently lifting out of the water to foil. This is where we all fell the most. It is SO sweet when you start foiling. The lifejackets and helmets and knee pads were good protection. We took breaks to rest and he reviewed additional pointers and individual tips on the beach or while we were floating. Our instructor was not looking at the clock and was genuinely focused on making sure we were able to develop the skills AND have a great time. He spent extra time with us at the end taking pictures and video of each of us. We couldn't have been more pleased. I would highly recommend Ben and...
