I am thoroughly convinced that the good reviews I read about this place were fabricated by relatives of those that work here. This place is a step above a ROACH motel. Upon arrival from Beaumont, I was NOT allowed to use the restroom no matter how much I requested. There is no REAL lobby just a check in spot. The rooms are OLD and outdated and the furniture is worn and belongs on the road. There is no closet, just a few hangers on the side of the TV. The bathroom faucet in the tub is rusted and the water pressure in the sink is barely above a drip. The desk and chair only took up space and there is obvious trash in the corner of the claustrophobic restroom. There is riff-raff hanging in the parking lot and the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors unlocking their doors as well as walking up the stairwell. There is only ONE ♿ spot in the parking lot and I'm pretty sure "professional " women are handling business here. The bed itself sits atop this square box such that when you move during the night, it literally teeter totters precariously. The ONLY good thing about this HORRIBLE place is its location, which lied and has "Downtown" in the title. It is located closer to the Medical Center (2 exits away). We were afraid to sleep or leave our car in the parking lot because of the constant shenanigans occurring in the parking lot. We would have done better parking our vehicle at the hospital where our appointments were. Do NOT stay here if you have ANY class about yourself at all. Too many seedy characters at a hotel that misrepresented itself.

You get what you pay for and that’s why it’s cheap to stay here. Check in was easy but what they don’t tell you when booking is you have to have a credit card because they put a $150 hold on it in case of damages to the room. Our room smelled the pot so bad that we had to leave the exhaust fan on in the bathroom all day and night. When I went to the front desk to tell them that it wasn’t from us (because I didn’t want to be charged for it) the front desk clerk gave me a thumbs up and said it was okay. The electricity kept going off and coming back on. The ice machine worked the first day but when I went to get some the next day it had been unplugged and had no ice. The exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn’t secure and you could see up inside the opening. The refrigerator was on the highest setting and wasn’t even cool inside it so couldn’t store any food in there. The neighbor was so loud and constantly had people coming and going from their room at all hours of the night (mostly where the pot smell was coming from). I will say that the parking lot is well lit and they do have ALOT of security cameras on the property because you can see the monitor at the front desk. When I was checking out I’d seen some muffins in the lobby so I grabbed a couple to notice later on that they were expired. We had chosen this hotel because we were there for a medical procedure for my mother at the hospital and it was close by. Again, you get what you pay for.

Got into town after midnight and was able to check in with no issues. The gentleman was kind of bothered as he appeared to have been asleep. The room was clean with no sign of bugs. It was kind of humid in the room. The room was nothing fancy but it was not runned down either. The bed was comfortable. They serve continental breakfast. The parking is super tight. The location is convenient, especially if you are trying to stay near the medical center without paying the outrageous prices some hotels do. I would definitely come back.

OK, so I was looking for a deal, I should have known. The room seemed new, but that was the only thing I can say good about this place, well aside from the price.

Internet access is awful, it keeps connecting and then dropping. I never know if my email will go out or not. Will I be able to visit another webpage or did the internet connection drop? Will I be able to submit this review or not?

So I travel a lot, this place has a jacuzzi type tub, microwave, even a refrigerator (more on that later) as well as an iron and even an ironing board and a hair dryer. I like to make my own coffee, but it seems this place does not provide a coffee maker. No wonder I kept thinking I needed to get one before I left to come to Houston.

The refrigerator was not even cool when I arrived. After a few hours I checked my food and it was not cold, so I got some ice and put it in the cooler I brought. I pulled the refrigerator out to be sure it was plugged in and it was but it wasn't working. Maybe it was the used condom that was back behind the refrig, maybe that's why it was not working.

The front desk came to my room and pulled the refrigerator out, but he could not reach the plug or the condom, he asked me to unplug it, wait a minute and plug it back in. It finally started working a little, but never got cold enough for me to feel safe leaving my food in there.

So every day for 6 days I had to go fill my ice chest just to be sure my food would not spoil. The new coffee maker works great, but that is because it is the one that I bought myself since they did not have one in the room.

Between no consistent internet access, the refrigerator that does not work, and no coffee maker, I can't see giving this place more than 1 star, though I wanted to go with negative stars. Glad to be checking out in the morning.

My requests about the refrigerator and the internet to the front desk resulted in no assistance at all. All I got was a dumb look.

I just pulled the refrigerator out, at least they did clean up the used condom that was behind the refrigerator . At least they did something, so maybe they do deserve one star!

If you want internet access, keep looking. If you want a coffee maker, move on. If you want a refrigerator that works, be sure to check it out before you pay for the room, it might work or...

America's Best Value Inn is the most reasonably priced motel I've stayed in ever. We had a single bed room on the bottom of two floors. You have a clear view of the parking lot so you don't have to worry about your vehicle. The room is very clean with no odors and best of all no carpet! The floor is faux wood, but made the room visually appealing. There is a wall heating/cooling unit that works exceptionally well (we had it set for 60F and within 5-10 minutes we were in heaven). The mattress is very comfortable, especially after an 8 hour drive. The room has a mini fridge, microwave, television, DVD player, clothing rod built in to the side of the entertainment center, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and some bathing supplies. The staff is very friendly and they provide coffee in the morning and cereal located in the front desk area. We didn't have breakfast there so there's no comment about the food or coffee. There are only two problems I had with the motel. One is about the shower in our room: the tub was very slick, and the wall sealent was splotchy with some kind of discolorant that is typical for some showers to have if they stay wet. The other complaint I have is about the driveway into and out of the parking lot. It is very steep and uneven. The underside of my car was scraped at the nose and the tail. We believe that it may have caused problems with my exhaust since it now squelas when the car is running. This isn't a life threatening or expensive problem to deal with though so I'm not concerned too much. Overall it was a wonderful experience staying at this motel and I would...
