I write this review respectfully with hope that a Manager or owner sees it. I live at The Mosaic, so we residents want this place to flourish and grow. Here were my issues tonight:
Inconsistent contact info. A flyer was circulated via email by Mosaic staff stating that residents get a discount and free delivery. I called the number on the flier and it rings. No one answers. Tried multiple times. I then went to the website listed on the same flyer. The website has a different phone number that appears to call a third party company and there was no mention of free delivery for residents. I finally searched for the restaurant on Goggle Maps so that I could see if the number was the same. Nope…different number, but this time someone answered right away!
The polite and friendly lady that took my order asked me for unit number and which way to go after the elevator. I paid and gave a 20% tip. Waited 30-40 minutes and someone knocked on my door. Opened expecting to see the lady who told me she would be the one delivering. It wasn’t. It was the front desk concierge (Gabriel), who told me the delivery person left the pizzas at the front desk. I had previously called the desk and given them a heads up about my forthcoming delivery so that they would give her access to my floor. After noticing she left the pizzas there, Gabriel was kind enough to bring them to me. That’s not part of his job at ALL. What was the point of offering delivery
I ordered two identical Hawaiian pizzas. I don’t know what happened, but BOTH of them had a lot of the cheese and pineapples literally run off the side of the pizza and glue itself to the box. As if they had been inside of a Formula 1 race car delivery vehicle taking high G turns. After all of the above this was just rubbing salt on the wound. Then I start eating the pizza and the pineapples tasted off. Too acidic, I believe they had already “gone bad”.
This was a total waste of my time and it might take me a long while before I give them...
Read moreListen. I love this place. And I don’t just say that about restaurants. . Here’s the thing though… I got sick after eating here once. I don’t know 100% without a doubt that this place got me sick, but it was right after finishing eating it that I got sick. Also, my husband didn’t, and he had a variation of shrimp, too. . Ok so, we’ve eaten here three times. The first time, I got sick. And we still keep going back. It’s that good. . We ordered for pick up the first time. Seafood pasta. Arugula watermelon salad. Asked in person to add a side of shrimp. Nothing was ready when we got there. He waited at least 30 mins in store when we arrived. Then when the food came, it didn’t have the shrimp. So he had to wait longer for that. Then as he was standing outside for like 5 mins the chef came to give him the salad dressing to my salad (which is essential for an arugula salad). . Hubby said his food was great. The arugula watermelon salad was 👨🍳🤌 just so good. Like. 🥲 melon was fresh and sweet. The citrus dressing was so good! The cheese and balsamic drizzle just 🎉 great salad. And the shrimp, even though they might’ve made me sick, were bussinnnnnn. They were so good. Like. I was really enjoying my food. . Second time eating here we got the gumbo & avocado mango salad. Omggggg. The saladdd. It’s just too good, almost. And actually very filling. The avocado is soooo green and fresh and the mango was a great sweetness. The citrus dressing again, added perfectly to the fruit. Just 😚🤌 . I would’ve given it 5 stars but I got sick and don’t know if it’s without a doubt connected. So 🤷🏽♀️ But yes. It’s so good....
Read moreWhenever we visit Houston, we always make a point to stop by the other Cosmo Café location, but since it’s now closed, we decided to try this one expecting a similar experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations.
The menu here is a bit different from the old location, which is understandable, so we decided to try the salmon bagel. However, it took 20 minutes to get a bagel despite the café being almost empty—there were only a couple of people dining, and they were already eating. No one else was waiting on food, so we were confused about the delay.
When the bagel finally arrived and we took a bite, it was hard as a rock—no joke. It was burnt, which I can understand from toasting, but it was so hard that we couldn’t even cut it in half. I went back and told them about it, and they offered to make a new one, which I appreciated. However, the second bagel was even worse.
The new one came out in about five minutes, but there was barely any cream cheese, and the bagel bread was so thick that it was impossible to get a bite with both the salmon and the bread together. On top of that, there were no capers either. At that point, we gave up and decided to go eat somewhere else down the street.
I’m not sure how you can mess up a simple bagel twice, but unfortunately, they managed to. We were very disappointed and don’t think we’ll be...
