The location of the hotel is great. You're close to venues, and other amazing parts of Houston Downtown.
The reason for my low rating is due to the overnight staff both for the front desk and valet. The morning, and afternoon staff were super friendly and very informative.
The overnight staff members were pretty rude, and super judgmental. When we arrived back from a show, we dropped our car off at valet and proceeded to our room. A friend and I came back down as she wanted to smoke, we had asked the front desk staff if they had a lighter as my friend seemed to have lost hers. She was met with a rude "oh I don't do that, maybe this is a sign you should stop smoking then". This might have been a joke, but with how she presented this comment did not feel like it was such. As she then added "I didn't recognize you guys, seeing as yall were dressed half naked when yall first walked in." (We were just wearing party close)
We saw our car still outside the hotel, so we assumed we could tell her it's ours and we will just go buy a new one. When we asked for the nearest gas station we were met once again with rudeness. She gave us directions, which we listened too multiple times just for her to keep saying "did you hear me?" "Are you even listening?" "Why am I wasting my breath when your friend is just going to use Siri anyway. My directions are that hard"
When got to the car it was completely unlocked, which worried us as the valet was not anywhere to be found. Either way we could not go anywhere since we didn't have the keys, but we found someone with a lighter.
My friend and I started feeling a little unsafe being outside, as a few homeless people started approaching us, so we called our friends that stayed in the room to come down and get us. When they came down, they started chating with the front desk staff which she asked them "why are they like that?" Which she pointed at both my friend and I. We all ignored her comment and just went back to our rooms.
We did not see ourselves needing to leave again, until my friend mentioned she wanted to smoke one last time before bed. We as a group of 4 went back down, which the lady said "were not going to keep doing this all night are we? I'm not going to keep opening these doors" we all ignored her, and asked the valet for our keys since the car was still parked in front of the hotel. Which the valet staff proceeded to roll his eyes.
Besides the valet overnight staff having an attitude towards us, our biggest concern was how our car was left unlocked and still parked in front of the hotel. We had noticed a few homeless people attempt to open the door to the car which lead to our panick, but the staff did not seem to care. So when we took it upon ourselves to lock the car, we were met with attitude from both the valet and front desk. We understood they are "keeping an eye" on the car, but for our sake of peace we wanted to lock our car ourselves.
Last comment: The overnight staff member, did not have to be judgmental of our party outfits by saying we looked half dressed, did not have to belittle my friend for smoking, assume we weren't listening to her directions, and thinking it was okay to belittle us to our friends thinking they would...
Read moreOur stay was okay. Not worth the price in my opinion. I would rate it two stars or less, but I forgot my favorite sunglasses and after we had checked out and driven half an hour away, I realized it and we drove back, and the staff helped me get my sunglasses back. I really didn’t expect to get my sunglasses back, so I am grateful for the helpful and trustworthy staff. However, that was the one of the few good things. The others were the view from the mediocre size window and the vicinity to nearby bars, restaurants, and parks which are things we could find elsewhere. Anyway, we decided to stay here because the advertised price online was $165 and they offered a nice view. When I checked in, the front desk person agreed it was $165 before tax. No problem, I thought, but when I scanned my card it was $235. There’s no way tax was that much! She even said the $39 (+tip) valet wasn’t included. I almost cancelled because it seemed sketch, but it was later in the night and we didn’t want to look around more because we thought we had a good view and a nice hotel. Little did we know, the a/c was shot. We called the front desk, and all they did was send a fan to the room. We spent the night tossing and turning. We also met another man, who had stayed with his family in the hotel, on our way down from the elevator who asked US if we had problems with our a/c, so obviously our room wasn’t the only one. Not to mention, half of our floor seemed to be under construction. There was also no bathtub, and the decor was outdated. Things I wouldn’t mind if the price (after “tax”) was more reasonable, or possibly wouldn’t have even noticed if the a/c worked. Also, the water pressure was horrible. Imagine an extremely loud sink with only 6 1-mm working streams pouring from the sink providing inaccurate temperature water. We had better water and a/c from an Airbnb RV we took a chance on. To top it all off, there was a sign as we checked out that said if we weren’t satisfied with our stay they would make it right, but we had called the front desk the night before about the a/c and they did the bare minimum of bringing a cheap fan to the room. And to be honest, that gave them an extra star. At the end of the day, no apology, no effort to make the situation right, not even a question on how our stay was. My advice: don’t waste your money here. I have spent less for way better in downtown Houston. I am only leaving this review so others don’t make my same mistake thinking this is a good choice. There are probably worse hotels I haven’t experienced yet, and that is the reason for the 3 stars. But would I stay...

Hotel staff was less than accomodating.
I had to call eight times in order to finally speak to someone without being immediately placed on hold and eventually hung up on.
Was not informed that the hotel had Valet Only Parking. Which turned out to be after the vehicle was parked we had no access to our vehicle until we checked out of the hotel the following day.
The Hotel rooms A/C did not cool or work properly. From our arrival of 8pm up the 11pm our AC was set on 65 degrees and it did not drop lower than 75 degrees during that time.
Upon our arrival back around 2:30sm the A/C had only dropped to 72 degrees being set still for 65 degrees. The A/C made it very miserable for two people in the room.
Let's Get Soaking Wet! If you use the sink in the bathroom to wash your hands, be ready to take a shower as well and don't have anything on the counter, because the pressure and the water sprays everywhere.
So much for Privacy.. If you are use to a locking bathroom door, like most houses and businesses have, you won't find that here. You'll find a sliding door with frosted glass that gives whomever might be joining or visiting you in the room a naked siloute while you shower or use the facilities.
The wet area sink is the same way, however the one in the room we were assigned was clogged and the water stayed in the basin until it slowly drained out.
The flooring and the furnishing in the room were torn and stained.
The walls and carpet had tears and markings on them.
The in room safe did not work to lock valuables inside.
The bedside lamp bulb was going out it kept flickering.
I felt like we were being treated like dogs.
It was made clear by do not disturb door hangers that the room assigned to us was a Pet Friendly Room for a guest traveling with pets. (We had no pets).
Via our Hilton Honors App, We requested a high floor King Bed Non connecting room, to which a room on the 16th floor was assigned but it was connecting to another room.
When reassigned we were put in a room on the 8th floor of a 19 floor hotel. I don't consider the 8th floor to be a high floor when we were originally on the 16th floor.
There's Construction all around the hotel, and we saw rats 🐀 running on the sidewalk at night along with one of the local area homeless yelling in the lobby and staff and security doing nothing but laughing.
The only good was the complimentary breakfast and the made to order omelet and other sides that were fresh and tasty.
I will continue to he loyal to the Hilton brand but this is a location I don't think I will visit again if I find myself in the...
