Absolutely disgusting experience. I came in on Saturday, and from the moment I walked in, I was not greeted. The barista clearly acted like me asking a simple question about oat milk was too much for her - rolling her eyes, sighing deeply, and giving me pure attitude for no reason. Sorry that you actually had to do your job?
The final straw (literally) was when she made my cold brew and slammed it down on the counter not even within reach, mind you, but far away, as if I was an inconvenience. I turned around at the sound of it and watched her immediately sit down and scroll on her phone. No smile, no āthank you,ā no āhave a nice day.ā Nothing.
If this is how Tenfold treats paying customers, I have zero interest in ever coming back. Coffee shops are a dime a dozen, and this one isnāt worth a cent of my hard-earned money. Iām visiting Houston and was ready to spend generously, but instead I left annoyed, disrespected, and frankly disgusted. Iāve already told all my Houston friends not to support this place.
Plenty of other spots know how to serve coffee and treat people like humans. Tenfold...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWho needs Starbucks when youāve got Tenfold? This place is everything a modern coffee spot should be; bright, airy, and buzzing with good energy. I had my laptop to knock out some work. The design has that open, minimal vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer.
The staff was quick on the draw with service and super friendly. The menu has a nice range of options, and while I didnāt go for a coffee this time, it was clear from the steady stream of locals and regulars that Tenfold has earned some serious street cred in Houstonās coffee scene.
I went simple with a sparkling water and breakfast tacos, and it was exactly what I needed. Fresh, low key and satisfying
Tenfold feels like the type of place you stumble into once and then suddenly find yourself coming back to every week. Solid work, Tenfold! youāve carved out a cool little corner in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally nicely roasted beans and expertly rendered coffee bevs. They were becoming my go-to spot during my travels to Houston, but yesterday I learned they are an intentionally cashless business, so Iām bummed that I have to take them out of my rotation. Iāve heard all the ostensible excuses for wanting to run a publicly-facing business this way, but as a coffee industry veteran, this kind of discrimination runs contrary to the culture of inclusion and accommodation that make me value coffee shops as social spaces. I could pay with a card no problem, but itās like patronizing a business that deliberately removes their entrance rampāI may not need it, but others do, and will stay away because itās missing. Would love to order from this place again if they decide to open their points of sale up...
