I had purchased a refrigerator from the American Freight store on Griggs on 610 a few years ago ago and i was very pleased, they let me inspect the fridge before taking it home and it was as is with a couple of scratches that were on the side but nothing big and the price was very good. This year I needed a dryer and so I went back to American Freight but to this location because i was pleased with my first purchase at Griggs. Well this time the dryer they had in “Good” condition was at this location which i thought it was a fair price for “only having a few scratches” so we bought the dryer online and my spouse went to pick it up they already had it wrapped with with plastic wrap so he couldn’t inspected which was a mistake he made even though he did see the couple of scratches on the top part of the dryer as described online, so they loaded the dryer and when he got home he had our neighbor help him unload the dryer and use a dolly to set in the garage til i got home to install it. Now when i got home and removed the plastic wrap i noticed a side panel was pushed in and the front panel that holds the door was also lose so after a closer inspection we noticed the top was lose as well. So i asked my spouse if he had inspected before receiving and told me he didn’t get a chance because it was already wrapped as i stated before. Now today (next day) i called the store to talk them about why they sold us a dryer that had lose panels and the guy that took my call Demitri stated that the dryer was on good condition when it left the store, that it didn’t had any lose panels, so i told him that we didn’t damage the dryer we were careful when it was brought down from our truck but made it sound like if we had damage the dryer so i asked him what can they do and told me again that the dryer had no damage other than the scratches described online, that there was nothing they could do and to contact Whirlpool so they can fix it for me but why should i have to contact Whirlpool if I bought it from them and not Whirlpool. I told him the dryer was not worth almost $400, if i wouldn’t know i was gonna get screwed up by this unprofessional staff at this store I would’ve had went to the one I previously purchased my fridge from instead. Now here are pictures of how the dryer look after removing the wrap and video to prove that the dryer was carefully brought down and not damaged by us. I will not recommend this store to anyone and if you do decide to purchase online make sure you have them unwrapped the appliance or anything you buy and inspected before you leave the store since they will tell you that they cant exchange it or refund you the money once you leave the store. I will never buy any appliances from this store but instead buy a new one from bestbuy because at least i know i wont get something damage and if i do, i have the chance to exchange it or get a refund. The reason i giving them 2 stars is because the dryer works but wish the side panel didn’t look...

When I came back from getting the new recliner to have the rest of my furniture loaded onto my vehicle, I was given a passively quiet attitude from the sales rep with glasses (likely displeased of my earlier refusal of the display model that he tried giving me without consulting me first). I said "hello (name)" and he did not answer the entire time he was helping me load up, but his coworker Kevin was very nice and acknowledged me. After a few minutes done loading, the rep with glasses walks off without saying anything, I literally had to yell his name and thank him again to get him to say "you're welcome" as he walked off. I paid my hard earned money fair & square, and did not renegotiate on the deal - they still made a full sale. The one with glasses needs customer service & courtesy training, big time. I left the store displeased simply because of that sales rep's passive aggressively rude attitude and will go to a different location from now on, or hopefully he will not be at that East Houston store...
Read moreI'm giving this rating for this year cause I went in to purchase a couch set on the March the 7th and the salesman that waited on me was Arcardia. He was nice but when I went to counter to sign my paperwork which I told him twice I was going to put money down and he said no ma'am just wait until your payment comes up on the 3rd and then I could do that. But that is not what I wanted I wanted to put $500 down that day towards my bill and completely pay it out before the 3rd of the month. Plus when I went to sign my paperwork im. asking what $54.13 for he says it's a processing fee but don't worry it would be deducted from what I still owe which he showed me an amount of 9 something then I asked why he put a 5 years warranty on my contract and told him I didn't ask for that. He didn't even ask if I wanted that he just assumed and gone tell me it's good to have then when delivery time came he tapped the foot of my sofa and broke the screw of in the sofa. I told him after the fact if I have to go through all what the finance company is telling me that he didn't communicate the truth WITH me I told him he's gonna get me a good foot for my couch which he tried to get me to accept the idea that him putting two long screws on my couch. I said I want a good leg for my couch and he got upset and started talking harsh but finally bought me a replacement sofa. This is not the first time I purchased from this location. I purchased a mattress set December the 9th which a sweet young lady waited on me and I think she said she was new but very professional. I wish I could remember her name. My daughter and my sister I told them about this place but after this bad experience I told them they have good furniture but DO NOT DEAL WITH AMERICAN...
