I just visted China Star off I10 East Freeway for the first time. I tried some shrimp, a few crawfish and some fried crab. I noticed a hairlike string attached to several of the crab on my plate. It made me feel nauseous after observing this and I no longer had an appetite. I asked for the Manager. her name was Jessica. I explained what had happened, as I had barely eaten and asked to comp my meal. She unapologetically offered a discount. I asked why would she not comp my meal. She said the hairlike string was a part of the fishing net and they can't remove all of them. Jessica picked up my plate of crab. I asked for the bosses name & contact number. She replied he wont answer the phone anyway and walked away! My friend and I immefiately went to pay for the meal. She gave a 10% discount which was unacceptable to me. Jessica was unprofessional and displayed an inability to handle customer complaints. I will NEVER visit any China Star this day forward!!! Consumers, Please review the pictures below; all were taken before I left the restaurant. Unhappy

I love Chinese buffets, like I really love them. I'm not expecting authentic Chinese food, I know it's all americanized and I appreciate these buffets for their variety. Maybe my standards are too high because this place was not it. The food was not very appetizing. Some dishes were too salty, others too sweet, and some were just bland. Again, I know I'm not getting quality dishes but everything was subpar. The sushi was more rice than filing. One of the rolls was rice and cream cheese. Same with the crab rangoons, more fried wrapper than filing and the filing was disappointing. It was also messy, the floor felt obviously sticky. There was a leak in the ceiling so there were several buckets in one spot, in front of the raw food hibachi section. The atmosphere was just unappealing. I've been to better Chinese buffets :/ for the price, it's just not that great. Also, I ordered two hot teas, but I guess I need to clarify, ONE hot tea and TWO cups.. why would one table of 4 want 2 whole teapot of tea.

China Star is in a building that was once a Golden Corral so that goes to show you how big it is it is full of buffet tables that are full of a lot of different foods that you normally don't see at a Chinese buffet they are Asian meals just not the typical ones you see everywhere you go they have a very elaborate salad bar they have a dessert bar and they have a sushi bar it is freshly made right there in front of you and if that's not your cup of tea you can get a Hibachi Bowl made also another thing to note the staff are all in uniforms they look very professional they are very polite and respectful and I had no problem keeping my glass full.

Driving by and decided to cancel our stop at a bbq place to come here so wish us luck!

I won’t let the low stars fool me until I try it out!!

Ok we are inside now!!! And let me tell you it smells delicious and it's pretty busy but enough space for you to walk from tables to buffet areas!! So much to choose from it's crazy and I LOVE IT!!!

Beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, wings, chicken drumsticks and several type of noodles and rice!! Try a little of everything because you will find out what's your favorite dish and keep going for seconds, thirds and more of you can handle it lol

My favorite was the shrimp in its skin and the crab which are perfectly fried and seasoned!! The shrimp has a spicy flavor that keeps making you go for more and the crab can be completely eaten!!! So crunchy it's delicious!!

The orange chicken is so good!!! It's flavor is actually good, not watered down. The beef with onions is tasty, the seafood soup is savory and spicy but can't go wrong!!

Visit the desert area because they have tons to pick from!!! Cake, ice cream, cookies, hello and omg fruit!!

The service is great! Very friendly and attentive and they keep it clean and on point!! Music playing in the background "Mexico vibes" eahhhhh eahhhh dance time and good food? Can't go wrong but ofcourse didn't dance lol

Honestly give it a try because I’m telling you it’s DELICIOUS!!! You won’t be disappointed, I am a very honest with food and I am a good lover so I’m telling you stop by and write a review because they deserve...

Food was decent not the same as the beginning but my server had disappeared and only resurfaced once I had a complaint. Watching my table seeing our drinks gone. My mother had to ask another server to assist and then she decided to stop and bring my mother a water, seen my empty glass and left. 15-20 min past my server still hasn’t assisted i got up to ask a different server for assistance, she seen asked i responded yes ma’am I have been waiting for about 20 mins , she then got bothered grabbed my drink, brought it to me saying” 20 mins but I have been walking by the table.” Absolutely walking by but still have yet to come and offer any part of assistance,, My server Karen then got combative and try to respond slickly once again which I had told her it was OK and it’s fine and she still got upset and walk away. Continuous conversations to her fellow servers as if I have a hearing problem. I came from Cleveland to be here and enjoy my family’s dinner. If I want rude a neglected service I can just stay on that side of town. My family loves this restaurant which we have been coming here for YEARS and I definitely do not have a small family but the service has gone downhill. I still tipped the girl bcs of the waitress occupation (I done fast food/waitress) but girl all I can say is if you can do the job without attitude cool but if you cant then maybe it’s not for you which is okay too however Seems I will have to look for something...

Today me , my mother in law & daughter went to eat here. The food is always good but our SERVICE TODAY WAS HORRIBLE. We asked for a high chair & the table who sat after us got their highchair & we he had to ask him again for the high chair. Everyone else was getting refills , we had to ask. Once my mother in law got her tea they gave her a Sweet tea instead of unsweetened after we already told him she's diabetic!!! And last but not least I got my second plate of food of corn & pasta & BROWN HAIR WAS IN IT. My hair is black & blonde. I wasn't even FULL or ate my cheesecake ( I grabbed it while I grabbed my second plate so me & my baby wouldn't have to get up again) . Just the thought of me almost biting into hair was pretty sick. So I told one manager and all he did was SMILE & said OKAY he was wearing a marroon shirt. When we went to go pay for our food the nice young lady at the register asked everything was ok we said no explained to her what happened , she told another manager (he was also wearing a marroon shirt) and he said WAS SORRY. Poor...
