Im a general contractor in the Houston area and last summer I constructed my dream backyard for myself and my family. We added a pool with garaddo and slide for kids but I also had an idea of building my own personal par 3 hole in my backyard. As an avid golfer I knew what I wanted and was able to design and build my own personal golf hole in my backyard. I had the tee box and green location set as I live on an acre with a pie shaped lot allowing me approximately 70 yards of distance for the par 3 and was able to raise/slope and construct the dirt portion myself. Only thing I couldnt figure out was the actual grass for the golf hole. After doing alot of research on Bermuda and other grass surfaces I also realized the cost of yearly maintenance and the amount of products I would need to have a "real" green and tee box and soon realized I was in over my head. The golf green mower was 25k, burmuda and other grass used for greens were really subject to many funguses and challenges with Houstons ever changing weather. Thats when I started looking at "synthetic" surface grass and had concerns with the ball actually reacting and spinning like a "real" golf course green. That's when I called National Greens and other companies to see about synthetic grass. I was shocked to say the least with the cost estimates of the synthetic surface I was getting from others but realized the longevity of this "no maintenance" solution to my dream backyard. Jeremy with National Greens was by far the most knowledgeable and straight forward contractor who came out and was willing to work with me to be within my "budget" for this project. He was more than a good contractor and he and his team worked thru weather and other obstacles (getting to the green w/out tear up my backyard) while performing their install. I would definetly reccomend giving him a call as I wouldnt have the "perfect" set up that I have now if I hadn't reached out to him for assistance in my project. Being a contractor I know how it is with hiring contractors to perform and purposely didnt tell him my contracting buisness as I didnt want that to matter, and it didnt. I can not begin to explain the amount of fun and reactions I get everytime anyone of my friends or fellow golfers come over to hit shots and have refered him out on numerous occasions. Everything he said about the ball spinning and the green reacting to different shots was accurate and even showed a great amount of concern for my happiness with his product. After a year now I can finally write this review in full confidence that I made the right decision on selecting my "grass" contractor, not only for the price which does matter, but more importanly the level of customer service I've experienced with Jeremy and crew. I would highly recommend National Greens of Houston if you are needing any synthetic surface solution for your own situation. I have wanted to put in turf and a putting green for a while. I spent quite a lot of time looking for design ideas and for a company that I could get excited about doing the project with. National Greens of Houston checked those boxes, so much so that I am writing a review which I don’t often do.

Our project was for the backyard. The plan needed to fit a pool, a small play set, an area for plants, a fire pit and a putting green. National Greens helped me come up with a great design that would fit all these areas. They used some of my ideas but mostly had a great plan themselves. What I would highlight here is that it was easy to work with them on a design and we made several revisions until it was what we wanted to do.

To me how it was installed was just as important as how it looked. It was clear that the steps that the installation team went through and their attention to detail were a high level. The installation team was just as good as the design team and that made the project a good experience for us.

The putting green needed to be able to have some great practice putting spots and also receive chip shots that reacted like a real putting green would. National Greens gave us a putting surface that did all those things.

We are extremely pleased with National Greens and would easily recommend them to do your project. Such a great company...

I cannot even begin to describe how knowledgeable, professional, helpful, PATIENT, and kind Randy is to work with. He is the absolute best and epitome of a true professional. From the very first time I ever spoke to him, he made me feel like my questions were important and that he genuinely cared about my goals and project. I had contacted a few other companies and some failed to even return my call. He supplied gorgeous, realistic looking turf with a rich green color that made my backyard dreams come true! I have small kids and dogs and it truly changed our lives to be able to hang out in our backyard...almost like we had an addition put onto our house (before it was a mud hole). Randy took every call (I like to ask questions, so there were quite a few) with a positive attitude and was so helpful from start to finish. Angela is also absolutely wonderful! She was the first person I spoke to when I called. National Greens of Houston delivered big time for my family! If I could give 10 stars, I would. 5 is not enough. Do not look ANY further if you are looking to install turf or a putting green....
