SureStay by Best Western Huntsville University Area — Hotel in Huntsville

I made reservations for my husband and son to stay for the evening. I was given the regular price of $79.00 plus tax brings it to $98.00. Yet my husband calls me to say he was charged $138.00. This hotel does a bait and switch and it didn't even have a coffee pot. The hotel is far from a 5 star hotel . When I spoke to the owner and told him he was overcharging he told me that US OUT OF TOWNERS made the reservation on booking .com and get my $50.00 from them. I in fact did not We are from Huntsville (Moved to NC)and my husband retired from Madison County Sheriff's Dept and were in town for our lawyers Mothers funeral ( Russell Crumbley). This is a issue that will go further then this review. I am making everyone aware of being ROBBED BY THIS MOTEL.

I am responding to your reply and already spoke with Booking.com and in fact the fee they charge is to the host or owner never guest . You are changing a fee to be on the site and charging your guest. It is ILLEGAL AND YOU WILL BE INVESTIGATED. All hotels are under the eyes of government. You charged a extra $17.85 for Occupancy tax ? We will be back to Huntsville in 1 week and I will be filing a theft and fraud suit...

These people are amazing. When I first arrived, I didn’t even have to go inside to check in, because the kind receptionist saw me wrestling my wheelchair out of my car, and came outside and asked for my ID and card and checked me in! I was initially going to be traveling with another person, but that fell through, so I was alone. Since I didn’t need two beds, I’m disabled, and they had an accessible room with one bed available, they switched me to that room, so I had a much nicer room than expected that I had an easier time getting around with my mobility issues. The continental breakfast is delicious. Every staff person I met was kind. They also held the door for me to make it easier to get in and out with the wheelchair when I went to the area with the front desk and the continental breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel. It is very nice! The beds are comfortable. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room if you pack all the lunches and dinners you will eat while traveling, like I did. The bathroom was nice and clean, and the accessible shower had a shower chair, so I didn’t have to put a trash bag over my collapsible stool to sit...

The hotel wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. The room was clean, but the bathroom wasn't. The hotel was easy to get to, and it is near a lot of restaurants and stores. The beds were also comfortable.

The biggest negative that took away for our stay is that the walls are very thin. We could hear the room on the other side of our bathroom, like literally. The breakfast is mediocre. My son usually loves breakfast, but he passed on what they served here which was a waffle. There were no eggs, bacon/sausage, and etc. They had muffins, bananas, and juice. Their cable is limited, and it went out a lot which I am assuming to the outdated TV in our room ( I guess).

If you need a quick place to stay and dont want to spend a lot, then this location is a "you get what you pay for" hotel. The front desk was nice, and it seems that they are trying to update the hotel. Parking is limited. There is only one side for parking. Overall, I would stay here again if I had to, but this wouldn't be a first choice...
