So my 11yo daughter chose THIS as her birthday Yes Day activity. You know, as little girls do. After choosing three friends (from this point forward, referred to as "Unwitting Accomplices") - and double-triple confirming she wanted to smash things rather than make pretty and colorful splatter things (another offered option), we booked a time.
And it was worth. Every. Penny. Just the sheer delight I felt seeing the Unwitting Accomplices' faces upon arrival was priceless. Add to that their transformation from timid, dainty, pinky-up-and-tippy-toed throwing strategy (you know, when you hear the glass bottle go 'ting-ta-ting-dingtingting' instead of 'SMASH!!!') to full-on, this-toaster-oven-must-DIE, bat and crowbar swinging, battle-roar strategy...
There are no sufficient words. But "glorious" comes to mind.
Major shout-out to Grant and Nate!!! Despite the very un-Swift aesthetic, these guys were polite, professional, helpful, and personable. I have no doubt that Grant and his friendly attitude helped put the "Unwitting Accomplices" at ease. And keep in mind - these guys aren't just hanging out behind a counter looking bored. There's a lot of work involved in what they do! They not only ensure the safety and satisfaction of their guests, but they do it while maintaining consecutive AND concurrent experiences - clean-up, setting up the next rooms, monitoring the guests, etc. Crazy how I get a smile from these guys but an eye roll from the typical cashier.
But I digress. Nate is great. Grant is great. The Rage Room is great. And all four delicate lil girls came out the other side sweaty, smiling, giggling, and reliving every moment in rapid-fire chipmunk chatter. Though it's intentionally a little rough around the edges - it IS welcoming people to rage, after all - our experience proved to be absolutely delightful!
Unexpectedly (older) child friendly. Surprisingly...
Read moreWe had a birthday afternoon planned out for my wife with family and friends that included axe throwing for 6 for 2 hours on Saturday at 2pm and dinner after. We get a call on Saturday around noon telling us that the axes aren't sharp and the person that sharpens them won't be in until later. They asked us to reschedule for 5pm or later. At that point we started making phone calls to find out if everyone was able to push their plans and then call the restaurant to see if we could change our reservation. We called Rage Room back and asked if there was anything they could do for us seeing as we are now having to rearrange this and was offered a 10% discount for the axe throwing. We were happy with that. We get there about 15 minutes early so we could fill out waivers and pay. We go to pay for the axe throwing only to be told we won't be getting the 10% discount and the employee that offered it called the owner and the owner denied to discount and that we could get a military discount if we are military. Mind you this is 5 hours after we were offered this discount and weren't told until basically it was too late to even attempt to make new plans or go to a different location for axe throwing if it was available. So we ended up paying full price for the 2 hours. We finally went back a little after the start time, went through the instructions and finally started axe throwing around 5:30. At 6:30 we were told we only had 10 mins left because another group was coming in. What happened to 2 hours of axe throwing? Needless to say, we won't be going back, I'll drive to another city to do a rage room. I typically don't post reviews like this but this was a birthday activity my wife was really looking forward to and the Rage Room definitely did not deliver but were more than happy to short us almost a full hour of axe throwing as well as charge full price for...
Read moreNot worth the money. Do yourself a favor and pass. Firstly communicateing with them was hard. I called and got hung up on twice. When I finally got a teenager on the phone, the music was up to load they couldn't hear me thus couldn't care to help and just said they would take a note down then hung up on me. I finally sent and e mail hopeing for help got an e mail back at 1230pm. When we got there the teenagers helping us treated us like an inconvenience and not welcoming at all. They didn't know what there were doing as any questions I had they had to check with the adult there. Their attitude made the vibe change. Most shocking was the amount I paid for something I could have gone to goodwill and got 10x more to break. There advertisement is just jazzed up, all we got were cups and plates to break. The three "big" items to break were already broken. When we moved the TV for my daughter to break the screen fell off as it was already smashed to bits. So I spent $260 to break some cups and plates and three already broken things two tvs smashed and a vacuum that was already broken in half. No we will not be back, no I will not recommend. This was very...
