Buyer Beware Room 107! My family has been staying at the Sand Dollar for almost a decade. By family, I mean my siblings and their families, my parents, aunts and uncles and cousins and their families as well. All total, we have around 30 people each year. As our families have grown so has the need for additional rooms. We were so excited to all be located on the first floor this year. My sister and brother had this room booked for their families and my parents and my family are staying next door. My sister recently had a baby and we had planned to help her as needed so she can enjoy her vacation too. Our rooms were booked on April 10th for our vacation next week (October). Imagine our disappointment, when my sister received a call today (Sept 26th) letting her know that the owner of this property did not want her family in the room due to the number of children and their ages (4 children and 4 adults) and the Resort has "upgraded" her room and moved her on the 4th floor. The owner has since changed the occupancy to 6. Highly disappointed in how this owner runs things. Switching to another floor would not have been a big deal in May when additional rooms were still available and someone else could have switched with them so my siblings weren't sequestered by themselves. We are not rowdy people and have a good track record at this location. We may stay at the Sand Dollar again next year or may look into a location. When booking be aware that your reservation only guarantees room type not actual room. The Sand Dollar is generally top notch but this experience has left a bad impression.||||Review updated 10/04/19After dealing with staff of the Sand Dollar and JC Resorts we were finally able to work out a solution that was satisfactory. I can't say enough good things about the Sand Dollar in general - that's why we stay there year after year- but I won't book Room 107 in the future nor will I recommend it to family...

Read moreRoom 110 is AWESOME! Love the view of the beach & pool deck. Our family of 6 has more than enough room. We love the keyed entry to everything, though tedious, its very safe for our kids. Beautiful sandy beach! The pool and hot tub are very good size. Room is great. Decent sized kitchen with full fridge, stove and storage. Two baths attached to the twin bed rooms. Large balcony with enough seating for 8. Very nice and comfortable furnishing. My vote is to come back to room 110!
Stayed AGAIN in October 2016. This was our second trip to The Sand Dollar and we loved it, AGAIN!!! We will be back. It's our first time in unit 103. It definitely fits 6 easily. We would need bed another bed to bring grand-parents. My wife doesn't care for the blue bathroom. But my youngest son and I like it! Master bed sinks in the middle, NOT good on the back. But I slept great of in spite of it. The glass decor is not friendly for young boys, but we managed. Beautiful sunsets!!! Beautifully calm sunrises! Beautiful beach and easy access to the white sands. Which don't burn your feet but are actually cooling. We love the pool and hot tub area. My wife appreciated the extra blankets in the rooms. We travel lighter with the laundry machines in the unit, which we used daily. Kitchen is great to eat in or for restaurant left overs. This place is old, and we love it for that reason, I would considering buying a unit here if the right one became available. It'd be better if someone just wanted to leave it as an inheritance! :) We never want to leave but when we do we are...
