Parking is $1/hr and the walk to the water is relatively shorter than at Clearwater Beach. Much less crowded as well, though the beach is not as nice - sand isn't as pure and the water is less clear.
There is a roped-off area with stones where people can fish directly across from the beach access so you have to walk north or south a bit to get to the water.
I'm fortunate to live quite close so it's great for me, but if you're in the area from out of town, you're better served to go to Clearwater where there is a LOT more to do, unless you just like sitting on the sand or swimming occasionally and prefer to avoid the worst of the crowds; in that case this is...
Read moreWell maintained beach! There is a lot of parking available, but during the busy season, you need to get there earlyish (before 11am). On a regular day, parking is not an issue no matter what time you get there. In my opinion, this is more of a "locals" beach... Not very touristy, so it's not very busy. I prefer the busier/touristy beaches like Clearwater Beach or Treasure Island... But still a 5 star recommendation/beach! Also, glad they fixed the other parking ticket kiosk... Now there are 2 again. It would be cool if they could go paperless and hop on the park mobile train like...
Read moreWhite sands, hot sun! This was a nice beach to relax, nice and breezy. Parking is free for disabled, although it shows you have to pay for general parking, we didnt see anyone charging (it was a Saturday too) we were there from 12 p.m - 3 p.m. and it was fairly empty, enough space for social distancing. There's no life guards at all and this beach does have ripcurrents so be careful with the kiddos! Also, there was large rocks close to the shore. One of us got a nasty cut on the foot.
