Me and my brother visited Indianapolis for the NASCAR race this last weekend and stayed at this location. We paid $72 for the night, which was a great rate considering it was an event weekend and I thought I was getting a deal when I booked it a few months ago. That should have been a red flag, along with the reviews I didn’t bother reading (I’ve learned my lesson). It was by far the WORST experience we’ve ever had, from the moment we set foot onto the property.
There was a milkshake or something spilled on the floor at the entrance of the lobby when we arrived (that was still there when we checked out the next day). The lady at the front desk was terrible and acted like us showing up was such a bother to her because she’d rather be sitting outside smoking than deal with checking us in. We get to our room and all but one electrical outlet worked so we couldn’t even charge our phones at the same time. The TV didn’t work no matter what input we tried. There were plastic wrappers in the shower clogging the drain. The tank of the toilet leaked every time we used it and we had to use the few towels available to soak it up. While the beds themselves weren’t terrible, the pillows were basically just cloth with no filling- I went to the front desk to ask for an additional pillow and the best from earlier literally scoffed at me and told me the two pillows on my bed were plenty and I didn’t need another (“beds only get two pillows”). The vending machines were out of order. The carpets in the hallway and stairwell were stained and it smelled. There was no tiny bottles of shampoo or soap, so my brother went to the desk to ask for some and the lady was outside smoking and took awhile to help him- when she did, she laughed and told him they didn’t have any, but managed to come up with a single 1 oz. bottle of shampoo. People were arguing in the hallway all night long, aggressively. We were scared to go downstairs to check out because we could hear a lady SCREAMING at the staff from inside our room on the second floor, and when we finally did go to check out, some random lady in the lobby told us to check our bags to make sure cockroaches didn’t find their way into them.
I’m the kind of person who looks for some of the cheaper rates when traveling because I’m usually on the go and not spending much time in my room other than to sleep. I understand the “you get what you pay for” concept and I don’t ever expect the motels to be the nicest looking, quietest and most comfortable. I’ve stayed at MANY Motel 6 locations in my lifetime and while there have been minor inconveniences here and there, I’ve never complained until now. Ive paid roughly the same comparable rate with better accommodations several times. I’ve always been satisfied until this weekend. It’s hard to disappoint me so it says a lot that I’m so worked up over this experience… safe to say I won’t ever be back. Based on...
Read moreI had recently posted a great review for this place but in all actuality it ended up being the worst place ever we were badgered numerous times by the front desk clerk Shareen. I made numerous complaints and nothing was done. We paid for a full week got charged for a day we didn't even get to stay because she accused my husband of smoking marijuana in the room when it was actually the workers there smoking and she cursed at me and I had to call the cops and on top of that walked in on me while I was getting dressed. We had to leave our hotel room so they could bomb for cockroaches which still didn't do anything because they were still everywhere babies and all and they still did nothing about it. If I was going to stay here I would turn around and walk away it's not worth it the people that work here two-faced they do things and blame it on the customers so they look better and they all seem to be on drugs except for the third shift woman she's very nice I believe her name is Leslie or Lindsey I didn't really get to know her that well but she was always very courteous to me not too faced at all. You know like the housekeeper that looks like she's all cracked out everyday and is always looking at people's rooms even if you have a do not disturb up. And I wouldn't bother telling Mark the GM anything or Mary or Peggy for that fact because nothing ever gets done about anything anyway they tell you all the stories about the horrendous things they've endured but do nothing and then our two-faced behind your back I've made a police report and called corporate on them it's the worst experience I've ever had in my life I am the nicest person around and me and my husband don't do anything to harm or treat anybody unfairly we're forward people but obviously they are not. If I were you I'd pay the extra $25 a week and go to a Red roof inn where you don't have to deal with cockroaches and people...
Read moreI couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised!
I was expecting a standard 2 star experience, but the service and attention to detail go way above. I was greeted by a friendly front desk staff that promptly checked me in and answered all my questions. The lobby area and entrance doors could use a little TLC but nothing that I haven't seen worse in higher ranked hotels. I parked with no problem and made my way up to my room on the 3rd floor. From the time I stepped off of the elevator onto my floor it was clear that renovations had been completed and the corridor was well lit and clean. When I opened the door to my room I immediately felt, well... "WOW"
The room was beautiful and welcoming. One of the first rooms I've ever felt guilty about wearing my shoes in! Beautiful wood laminate flooring, great color choices, and the layout of the room itself makes the absolute best use of space, right down to using pocket doors for the shower/toilet area.
The housekeeping staff does a fantastic job! Superb really isn't giving them enough credit. I don't usually get super picky, but after seeing the quality of the room that I'd just payed $65 for the night, I kept asking myself "what are they doing wrong? " I searched the room trying to find dust, hair, a smudge, anything that might get overlooked. Inside the lamp shades? Nope. Around the base of the toilet? Nope. Ah, but surely there's something to find somewhere in the mini-fridge or microwave! Nope. One of the best prepared rooms I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The bed was very comfortable.
They've partnered with restaurants for delivery room service.
The location was great for my flight the next morning.
The conclusion to my question of "What are they doing wrong? "
They're under priced. Plain and simple.
I have a feeling they won't be for much longer. Enjoy...
