Upon checking into our room, we encountered several issues. Firstly, the room was missing a shower curtain, the fire alarm was pulled out and hanging from the ceiling, the toilet paper holder was broken, there was a missing chair, and there was no TV remote. When I approached the receptionist, who was preoccupied with his phone, he made minimal effort to address our concerns. Eventually, he switched our room, but the new room was still unsatisfactory as it lacked towels and had old trash left behind. The bed was extremely hard, and uncomfortable having us wake up every couple hours. The A/C definitely had something wrong with it, every time it turned on, it would make loud noises to the point we would wake up every time it kicked on. I reported these issues to two front desk receptionists who failed to notify the manager. She only found out from the review I left in an email after the stay. It’s been several weeks and I finally got a call back today and was told I would not be allowed a refund, but they would give me points. They couldn’t tell me an exact amount of points, or how many days that would even come out to. We usually recommend this hotel every year, but for obvious reasons we will not be back.

We chose this hotel for a 4-day family vacation because it had a kitchen, but unfortunately, it turned out to be the wrong choice. The hotel was very dirty. The sheets had not been changed. Since we arrived late and were extremely tired, we didn’t notice right away — until we woke up the next morning and saw the condition we had slept in. Everything was filthy. The stoves in the kitchen didn’t work, and only after my husband went down to the office several times did they provide us with a portable burner. The room, meant for 4-5 people with 2 queen-size beds, had only one spoon placed in a drawer. The inside of the drawers was full of dirt. When we asked the cleaning staff in the morning to change the sheets, they said, “You’re not on my list, so I can’t change them.” There is no daily cleaning service — you have to ask and remind them repeatedly for everything. The sheets and towels didn’t even smell clean. It was a bad experience overall — not at all up to the standards of a good hotel brand. The blonde lady with glasses at the front desk treated guests as if they were staying for free — always with a frown and responded rudely to anything we said. We were not satisfied at all.

This hotel has several long term issues that keep going unaddressed. We had one night we couldn’t even use one of the beds at all due to the ceiling leaking on it. The hole in the ceiling didn’t happen overnight, yet they continue to rent this room without fixing the issue?? The first day the ac was hanging out of the wall & leaking water all over the corner of the room soaking the carpet & our stuff. Very moldy & musty smelling! The room was dirty when we arrived (see pictures) & was not cleaned once during our 5 night stay. Red chips & rusty screws on the floor?! The tub is a disaster!! A couple of the days we were told they had no clean towels available. 2 of the mornings we went down for breakfast before 7:45am & it was cleared out. Not even close to what we have come to expect as Best Western Members! This property did not provide the most basic things that they should be offering & that we paid for.

Day 1 Tuesday/Check in: unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the pool on our first day of arrival due to the pool water being green, we were informed by the front desk staff that the pool cleaning occurs on Wednesdays and should be available for use the next day. The check-in process was a little lengthy however we attributed that to booking our room through a third party instead of directly with Best Western. After getting into our room and turning down our beds we discovered a partially eaten bag of chips and a very grody ear wax covered q-tip. The front desk staff was very apologetic and the ladies came and turned down the bed with fresh sheets immediately. The security of the door to your room is concerning. In order to make the door latch engage you have to push on it when inside, or pull on it with significant force on the outside. In other words, the door sticks, so be thorough with your room security no matter where you choose to stay

Day 2 Wednesday: The pool was still closed. The breakfast was a consensus among us as three out of five stars. A Cafe Bustelo machine produced an excellent cup of coffee, and the juice selection was also good. For the breakfast items you had your choice between biscuits, English muffins, regular muffins, three flavors of yogurt, and one cereal option. In a previous review it stated there were Texas shaped waffles however during our stay it was replaced by an automated pancake maker. Unfortunately the pancake maker broke so only two people out of our party were able to enjoy that aspect of breakfast. Kudos to the employee at the front desk who really gave his all into making the machine function, although unsuccessful. There were pre-packaged American cheese filled omelets, which were quite abysmal, and sausage links in a warming tray. The sausages were really tasty!

Day 3 Thursday: Despite the pool being scheduled to be cleaned on Wednesday, we are now promised that the pool will be cleaned today. We don't think it's actually going to happen. This is a 4 day 3 night stay, and it appears that we will not be able to utilize the pool at any point during our stay unless we forego doing absolutely anything else and wait on the pool that should have been available upon check-in to be ready at their convenience, rather than their guests. The pancake machine was functioning this morning, the main entrees were sausage flavored gravy and eggs. Only one of our party members partook of the eggs and ended up in significant digestive distress. The pool would not have been an option for this member of our party. At this stage of our trip with we have decided that we will not be booking with Best Westerns that are managed by the same company, we will however seek out Best Westerns in general as this has been our only misstep with staying at...

As a Best Western Diamond Select Member, it is disheartening for me to leave a negative review regarding our recent experience at a Best Western hotel.

Our first issue arose at check-in when the front desk staff appeared unfamiliar with accepting cash payments. My husband frequently travels for work and has had numerous positive experiences with Best Western. Typically, when booking a room for an extended stay, they charge our credit card for only one night or place a hold on our card until check-in is completed, allowing us to pay for additional nights in cash. We initially assumed the confusion was due to a new staff member so no big deal, but this was just the beginning of our challenges.

Upon checking into our two reserved rooms, we discovered that the stoves in both rooms were non-functional. We promptly informed the front desk, only to be told we would have to wait for maintenance to address the issue. Unfortunately, after 8 nights and 9 days, neither stove was repaired, which was particularly disappointing given our intention to use them for cooking.

Additionally, the breakfast service was inconsistent, often lacking sufficient food for all guests.

Throughout our stay, our rooms were not cleaned not even once. I reached out multiple times, speaking with staff various members including Chrissy, Olivia, and Lisa, to request room cleaning, sheet changes, and towel exchanges. While each assured me it would be taken care of, no action was ever taken. Lisa was the only one to provide a straightforward response, albeit rudely, informing me that the hotel does not offer room cleaning services at all to extended stay customers. She was extremely rude and does not belong in a hospitality business.

Moreover, the washer and dryer facilities were out of order, making it impossible to do laundry at the hotel during our extended stay.

To compound our frustrations, we experienced a complete lack of hot water for a day and a half.

I spent a total of $1,374.98 for our stay, which felt excessive given the numerous issues we faced. I believe we should have been entitled to some form of compensation, but unfortunately, the front desk staff was unable to assist with this. When asked to speak with a manager they never knew when a manager would be available to speak with.

I waited six days to write this review because I did not want to tarnish Best Western's reputation. My family has always had positive experiences at other Best Western locations. However, after careful consideration, I felt it was important to share our experience to inform potential guests of the challenges they may encounter...

Would this give less stars if I could, unfortunately, I'm obligated to click on at least 1 to post this.

My family and I booked a room at this Hotel, while leaving our city approximately 2-3 hours away to spend the weekend near the beach. We were CLEAR with our needs, while booking over the phone, needing a room for 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 dog. After giving the operator over the phone all our details, he seemingly understood, repeating back our info correctly and confirming the room. We then received an email and text confirmation with numbers and all.

We arrive and are ready to check in only to be told that the reservation was made for ONE adult. Additionally, the name was incorrect and the billing address on file was from a completely different state (Florida, as opposed to Texas). We were then told the Hotel was in fact NOT pet friendly and needed to pay a deposit to keep our dog in the room. We were also instructed to pay extra for the other adult and that they'd "Do us a favor and not charge for the teenager."

Gee. Thanks.

We declined the room and told them we'd wanted our money back. The information was booked incorrectly, and now last minute we are told to pay extra (extort) to be able to stay? Personally, I don't care how many people were piling up behind my family and I ready to check in, we were not going to be forced or intimidated to pay extra when the charges were already agreed upon hours prior. The manager claimed it would be impossible to get our money back however we are already in the process of working with our bank for that refund. We discussed this shortly after with the hotel rep operator over the phone and they too, pressured us to stay, by just paying the dog and extra adult fee. Standing our ground we continued to decline and so they dropped down to just "waive the pet fee and pay extra for the adult." Again, we declined. We refuse to be swindled.

We wonder if the first rep we spoke to purposefully got our info wrong, so that we were obligated to pay extra should we have proven desperate but we only live 2-3 hours away. We enjoyed the beach and the sights and drove back home later that night with no problem. By the looks of other reviews, we dodged a bullet.

You should too.

Only positive: The front desk lady, while new, was very nice, even if she was unaware of what was going on. Management however, could use...
