I was traveling with my husband and two 12-year-old girls. I booked here partly because I was doing a beach trip on-the-cheap and the price was right, and partly because I liked the idea of having a kitchenette. We had some problems with getting out of work on time and then with our car, so we arrived very late, around midnight. We got off to a bad start at check-in and then when I mentioned that we had children, the clerk looked horrified and informed me that they were a "100% working hotel" and since we were on the 2nd floor, the children would have to be extremely quiet. I assured her my kids travel a lot and it would not be a problem. However, I was worried because I have stayed in hotels in the past that catered to workers and it was usually not a good experience. I had absolutely no need to worry and things got better.|The Good- Early evening could be a bit noisy, but by 10 PM everything was quiet, so we actually got a good night's sleep. The people who were working left early, but tended to be very quiet on the way out. They were also unfailingly polite and neighborly, including a man who was coming up the stairs as I was going down with a large bag of laundry who insisted on turning around and carrying it down for me. The room was well kept and maintained. The kitchenette was clean and includes a 2-burner stove, sink, refrigerator, microwave, and appropriate pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. The floors were not carpeted, which helped keep it clean, and the beds and bedding were reasonably comfortable, with the bedding clean and in good repair. The bathroom was spotless. The laundry room was well kept, with everything in working order and reasonably priced.|The Bad- the elevators were inconveniently located and we usually took the stairs. Because so many people were staying there long-term, there tended to be a lot of cooking smells in the hallways in the evening, with people going room-to-room and noise from small groups gathering in rooms and blocking doors open. Unusual, but not terrible. The pool was very small with no hot tub. It was a long, but easy, drive to the beach. There were no restaurants or markets nearby, except a very small and dated HEB. |The Ugly- The pool is the social area for the people staying long term, so it gets crowded in the evening with people hanging out drinking, barbecuing, and socializing. It made me a bit uncomfortable to take the kids to the pool in the evening. It also meant the area was heavily littered with debris, especially beer bottles, in the morning.|Over all, it was better than we expected, especially for the price, and we would stay...
Read moreMost of the hotels in Corpus Christi were sold out and the ones that were available were very expensive . My son had baseball camp the next day so we just needed a place to get some rest and sleep. I had never stayed at a studio 6 which was an extended stay kind of hotel. But we really didn't have a choice. We checked in at 10pm. The exterior was incredibly clean and well lighted. So that was a good sign. The elevator didn't work so we had to walk up one flight of stairs, not too bad. The stairwell area smelled like mildew ( carpet looks old) , so I was so afraid of what the inside of the hotel would look like. I was surprised that it was roomy and clean . I like laminate floorings because I had my dog there. Bed wasn't the best but it will do. No breakfast in the morning . What I didn't like was that it had a very strong smell , not mildew but not sure what it is ? Maybe it is the freshener that they used . It didn't smell bad but I really didn't care for the strong smell. Oh well, I was able to get some rest before the camp. That's important . The price was very reasonable and I have to say I was pleased that the hotel turned out better than expected . The interior and exterior was clean except the "strong smell". The front desk was pleasant. Overall, if you want to save some money and stay at a decent place then this Studio 6 will be for you . If you expect to hang around the property and use the amenities then this is not the...
Read moreWe just got back from staying here several days. We weren't expecting much honestly but we're pleasantly surprised! The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating because they let us use a housekeepers cart to wheel our bags up to our room. The room was very clean and spacious. They have everything you need including a toaster! My daughter and I went to the pool our first day and appreciated how clean it was. Also the temperature was perfect! Every day our room was cleaned which I wasn't expecting from an extended stay motel. The beds were failrly comfortable. Only downside was how bright the lights shine into the room at night making it hard to fall asleep. We also enjoyed looking at the pond behind the motel because there's a TON of wildlife such as cranes, turtles, snakes, armadillos and even wild hogs! So be cautious and enjoy the scenery. We've never stayed in Ingleside and always just stay in Port A but came here due to my husband's work. We decided to try out Rockport Beach which is only a 20 minute drive! We were so happy we did because we thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved having shade and the smooth sand bottom. We planned on driving to Port A for a beach day but went to Rockport each day because we loved it. Anyhow we will definitely stay here again due to the great price and clean,...
