My partner rand I experienced something I hope no one else will have to endure. Around 2:45 am While we were sleeping soundly we were awakened by a gentleman who gained access to our room without our consent who was given a key access card from the overnight front desk manager. The front desk manager failed to ask for identification nor did he call my room to ask permission. The unknown gentleman appeared to be looking for something as he was going through our belongings. Both of us were petrified and feared for our lives. I suffered a seizure and my partner could not stop shaking from all the emotions. Once I was able to talk again I immediately called down to the front desk to see why did he give a stranger a key to our room and he responded that the gentleman said my name and thought he saw the guy with us earlier that evening. He was greatly mistaken and I expressed how serious that was for our safety and how it could have been a deadly situation. We still had 3 days of our stay that we already paid for but grabbed our belongings and had to drive to another hotel at 3 am in a city I’m not familiar with. I called the police and reported what had happened and how to contact me if they need anything from us. He said he would have the operations manager Karen Magee call me first thing on her arrival to work. Unfortunately I never received any callback at all even though in the days following I personally left messages for her to please contact me which she never did nor did Mr. Patel who is the general manager. This horrible experience that jeopardized our safety and our lives has yet to get any follow up or anything. If you choose to stay here please ensure you use the chain lock on the door and hide your belongings. We still have anxiety and fear when staying at any hotel since that unbelievable experience. However we are alive and fortunately only had a few items stolen. I hope this never happens to your family...
Read moreI am a stand-up comedian of over twenty-five years experience and I was doing a show this past weekend in Port Aransas, TX. I was looking for a room for the night nearby and I found the Sleep Inn & Suites in Ingleside, TX. And all I can say is, "Wow!" There are a number of hotels in the area, but I'm so glad I found this one.||||You walk through the front door of the lobby and immediately get a taste of everything the Sleep Inn & Suites has to offer. Across from the front desk, you see the large dining area where they offer their free fantastic breakfast. You can also see their impressive workout room as well as signs that point to their other amenities like an outdoor pool, laundry room and business center. A fax and copy machine are also available. I was only their for one night and wished I had more time to take advantage of everything this place had to offer.||||The room was really beautifully designed with plenty of room for luggage and still space to move around comfortably. A large bathroom, such a plus, that offers all the bells and whistles a weary travelers is looking for.||||All these things by themselves would be enough for a five star review. But here is where the Sleep Inn & Suites goes above and beyond. When I entered the room I found bottles of water and snacks waiting for me. But there was also a hand written note from Karen. She is the Operations Manager at the Sleep Inn & Suites and also the woman I spoke with when I booked the room. While on the phone I mentioned I was a comedian and in town for a show. The note from Karen read...||||"Welcome! Hope the show is great! Enjoy your stay! Karen"||||As I guy who spends a great deal of time living out of a suitcase, I can not tell you just how much something like that is appreciated. As a person who makes his living talking for a living, I don't often say this. But I was speechless.||||Thank you Karen, your staff and Sleep...
