We stayed at the hotel from 2-20 thru 2-26 in rm 106. Unfortunately the room had a lot of issues that can be fixed rather cheaply and quickly. CONS: There were no closets to hang anything, no rods, no hangers, no hooks, nada!. There were no hooks in the bathrooms, no mirrors to dress by, and again no place to put your clothes. If you don't mind living out of your suitcase then this is not a big deal. But if you want not to look like a wrinkled mess, then this is an issue. No irons/ironing boards either. No drawers. The WIFI was very limited and although the staff came to the room and added a secondary router, the WIFI continue to buffer for long periods of time. The biggest issue was the lack of hot water. They run the hotel on solar panels and tanks of water. During the day there is warm, not hot, warm water, but as soon as the sun goes down so does the hot water. If you don't mind cold showers then this is not an issue, but if you want at least a tepid water than this is a big issue. Additionally, no pens, paper, shade for privacy over kitchen window, tissues, or tissue boxes. Insufficient electrical outlets and no none USB ports. now the PROS: The view out does most high end hotels. The staff was helpful and on hand. The cleaning staff was courteous and providing what they could or had on hand. Overall the rooms were clean. We had the 2 room suit which was one bedroom w bathroom, no hot water, and one room with a kitchenette, dinette table, and balcony. This area also house a second bed sitting two feet from the exit door. The beds were comfortable and clean. The set-up for this room was odd, but none issue for us. The room rate was mid-moderate, so not cheap but definitely within most budgets at 220.00 a night
We are experience travels, from as far as China, and Russia, yes Russia, to as recent as Dubai. So we know the basics of a hotel and unfortunately this is below that. But we would go back, because to seek sea turtles from our balcony and hear the breaking...
Read moreView is very nice and place was essentially clean, however shower wall had long strands of hair- not ours!!! Kind of gross, see pic.
Additionally, a few other things made this less than pleasant:
NO signage to find the office- it’s on the second floor and we were dropped by taxi, making it necessary to walk back and forth through multiple complexes carrying heavy bags looking for an office. It’s not clear where to check in. See pic, for real, in this big complex, no office sign at all and one would not expect it to be on the second floor. After walking around, back and forth for ten minutes, stumbled upon a back stairwell that had a sign in 10 pt font on the wall stating the office is on the second floor. Still not clear where to go once up there and it took more wandering around to find it, also not labeled from the inside. Additionally, very unpleasant check-in lady demanded a credit card that did not exist (we booked through a third party so the number she was seeing was connected to that site, although the booking was paid for) asked for copies of both driver’s licenses and handled our cards multiple times and ended up keeping my husband’s license and then not letting us know they had it, until: No internet, you can log in to the Wi-Fi and then nothing works anyway. When we called much later to ask if it could be re-set, they happened to mention they had the driver’s license- not sure when they were going to mention that? The Wi-Fi never worked even though a nice lady did come out to try to help. At the office, they said they could call us a cab to the airport in the morning, so no need to call an Uber. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the office at 6:30 in the morning to return keys, it was locked up tight with no one around. We had to walk way back to room, lock keys inside room while trying to call for a cab so we would not miss our flight.
Right on the beach and room was comfortable and nice. Still, clearly some quality issues need to be addressed. Would not...
Read moreA beautiful relaxing stay! I was a bit wary at first about booking here with some of the other reviews on here but here was my experience: Parking spots were always available and close by. Follow the signs to the office, it’s not hard to find unless you don’t have eyes! Staff was super friendly and accommodating, following up on my stay with texts to make sure I had everything I needed. Our room was right in front of the balcony overlooking the beach! Super scenic! We slept in every morning listening to the waves and loved watching the pelicans dive for food. Saw but never heard any of the other guests. Very peaceful. Room was clean and kept cool and free of moisture with a powerful air conditioner. Sheets, floor, bathroom and kitchen were all clean. The kitchen had a big fridge and freezer! Not your standard mini fridge. There were enough tools that we could make do making breakfast each morning- an odd number of utensils and one working stove but it was just the two of us so that was fine . We had zero issues getting a warm or hot shower all 3 of the nights we stayed. There was an outdoor shower that was super handy for keeping sand out of our room. The hot tub was inoperative but it looked like someone was trying to fix it. I frequently saw staff tending to the outdoor areas and helping other guests. The location was great for everything we needed to do, right on the beach with a stairway leading down, the busier part of Jobos beach (with a lifeguard- most of the beaches in the area didn’t have one) was a short walk away with plenty of wonderful restaurants lining the road. Grateful for the surf shop nearby. The grocery store and gas station were also a short drive down the road. Don’t get your hopes up for a luxury hotel, however this hotel does have everything you need for a great price. Loved...
