Save yourself the trouble and money, and book somewhere else!
I love kitschy motels and hotels and was so excited to stay here for my birthday weekend. It has so much potential! We booked for 2 nights and left after the first one due to the unsanitary conditions. There are no refunds- $183 for two nights with taxes and fees. We cut our losses and booked somewhere else for more money. I rarely write reviews and I really hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake as us. :(
The room was filthy. The floor would leave your feet or socks black. The sheets were stained with paint and other unknown things. The smoke detector had been removed. The tub appeared to have been used prior to us going to the room. It was beyond gross! It didn't drain. We felt more dirty after the shower than before. There is no AC-which is fine but the window opens only a crack and the bad smell makes it hard to handle. The several air fresheners in the room don't mask the smell. You cannot fully close or open the bathroom door without lifting the toilet lid and seat. There are stains on everything-walls, bed, benches, etc. Even sitting down on the furniture made us feel gross. I only took a few photos-we tried to avoid staying in the room for too long. But they really don't capture just how rough it was.
We asked to have a different room because it was not clean but they said they were full. We requested someone to clean the room, they said someone had already done so. We finally requested clean sheets, they said they were fresh but they did give us a new top sheet. We didn't sleep beneath the sheets because of how gross it was. They didn't smell bad but there was hair, they were wrinkled, and had stains on them. Some of the stains appeared to be permanent (like paint) but the other stains looked like food (hopefully).
I have stayed in hostels and motels long-termish due to housing situations and am used to them. This one was in rough condition and I would recommend you book somewhere else.
The only pros: Free parking. No bedbugs,...
Read moreI am giving this place three stars because of the quality of the inn.
The people are very nice. They helped me out a lot. But some of the staff doesn't know the most about what to do for the property so they have to call the manager. But they are all still nice. I had no issues. Even the cleaning lady was friendly.
Now In regards to the bed and overall cleanliness. There were no bedbugs in my room and I had a big king size bed. So I slept very comfortably. And it is a very safe area. I was on the main floor in room 8.
But the room is a bit dirty. The sheets had spots on them so I used my own. When I first arrived I took off the sheets and a centipede came out. I only saw it that day. My friend was with me so it freaked him out. The bathroom had a hole in the wall and there was a huge bug that came out twice the size of a cockroach. A huge beetle I stepped on in but it didn't die. So I kept the door closed to cover the hole. The chairs and dresser are not super clean either. There is only a fridge in the room but it's a small fridge.
But I was really safe there. No problems with anyone. So if you need a few nights to stay it's great and the neighborhood is nice. But just understand it's a simple motel.
You probably will hear people having sex like I did and yelling through the walls. But no one bothers you. It's a safe area and there are cameras all over the property.
Laundry down the street. The microwave and ice are in the main office. And there are cafes and supermarkets within 5 min walking. I'm from Chicago so I know the...
Read moreWhile the staff in the front office were helpful and apparently content with providing information to guests. I would be VERY VIGILANT in checking out ON TIME because the"HOUSEKEEPER"(defining this lady stretches that word,to say the least), was a sixty something Hispanic woman who, regardless of the fact that I had informed the office that I would need an additional ten, fifteen minutes for my friend to arrive to pick me up and was informed that it wouldn't be a problem, still knocked RELENTLESSLY, while the door was open, saying she "clean room NOW!! When I said it was ok, that the office knew I would need a few minutes to check out, she feigned the ever so popular" no habla englesh"and became visibly agitated and EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE!!! She then experienced a miracle and became fluent in English! Hallelujah! Anyway, it wasn't loud, the room was what you would expect of a small, mostly four hour "naps"type of hotel. Don't...
