TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!šŸ‘ŽšŸ½ Would Never Recommend

The manger Esperanza ruined what we thought was going to be a wonderful experience based on all the great reviews. From the time we walked in, there were seating issues, until the time we left, with a yelling match between her and a very unsatisfied patron in our party. She is inexperienced, dismissive, rude and very immature. We had several issues and based on her actions (no action taken) and her attitude, she blatantly didn't want to be bothered and was very annoyed to speak about it. Instead of helping her overwhelmed waitress, who was clearly struggling with our large party, stood by the bar laughing, making jokes, giving glares and dirty looks at our table. That was only when she decided to come out of the kitchen where she was hiding. I ordered a Margarita and after an hour of telling our waitress I still had no drink, I went to the bar to get it myself. I found myself getting yelled at by a young disheveled waitress who kept screaming at me to sit down.šŸ™„I told her.... "Not without my drink I won't." Then we have the food.... which seemed to take just as long. The food starts appearing at our table randomly, in no timely order. People were finishing their food while others are just getting served. Most orders were wrong, incomplete, not served or not ordered at all. Two people had to get their food to go since it was never served at the table. We were never asked if we wanted our drinks refilled, dessert, is everything ok, ect.. Our waitress, Rosalia, which I felt wasn't accustomed to serving big parties and was doing the best she knew how, was clearly in distress and having problems and NO ONE at that establishment helped her. After bringing issues to the manager as they were happening, we thought they would be addressed and rectified. What did she do about it? Absolutely Nothing! No apologies, No accountability, No desire to offer help or solutions for anything that was happening. It was disgusting as the 'manager' watched this catastrophe unfolding in front of her and do nothing. As if it was her way of getting back at us for complaining by sabotaging Rosalia. I can honestly say it looked liked she was getting off on watching us have a horrible time. WTAF 🤯 Seriously?!?! To add to that we had discriminating and unacceptable remarks made from a LGBTQIA+ server while walking by our table.

To that server... Pitiful & Pathetic Display of Representation.😶 Shame on you!

To the manager.... Put on an apron and help your servers, take responsibility for what's happening in the restaurant you're supposed to be in charge of. Learn how to talk to your customer calmly and with respect when situations are brought to your attention. Also educated yourself on what it actually entails to be in a managerial position. I understand this isn't a Michelin award winning restaurant but com'on. Hire someone who comes with recommendations, experience and who understands the fundamentals of food service work and the hospitality industry.

To The Rodriguez Family: I'm very disappointed we were unable to have that wonderful experience that is boasted about social media. We specifically chose this location based on that. It's unfortunate that the actions of one person (your manager) could ruin and distort our expectations of your restaurant. Every high star or great review could be no further from the truth for the 15+ people who were in attendance and dealt with the same encounter that evening. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration was nothing but a total disaster.šŸ’”

Understaffing had nothing to do with our experience. Plenty of open tables, staff hanging around the bar, talking or on their phones just like the 'manager'

I also understand some type of percentage was taken off the bills after much back and forth with several patrons at our table. Personally that doesn't mean much or make up for how we were treated with such atrocious behavior from your...

At first I was a little annoyed that the wait time was long as hell lol(over an hour). Me personally I am a pretty big guy, this place is small, like very small. I went to this restaurant on an empty stomach, have not eaten for 21 hours straight so I didn’t enjoy the fact I had to wait almost 2 hours to get some food in me. Now once we were seated, ate arepas with tostones as appetizers, settled in with shots of Colombian liquor, this place is ok. What I couldn’t stand was the fact they were playing live loud ass music for a place themed as a restaurant. The theme for this restaurant is a Spanish club and a full sit down restaurant in one. I couldn’t even hear my party talking because it was too loud. If you like loud dj music with the whole full sit down restaurant experience this place is for you. Me personally when I go to a restaurant with a group, I enjoy the art of companionship and conversation, don’t expect that here because of the loud music. Food was good, not bad. Only reason I am giving this place a high rating is because my family enjoyed it, they had a good time. If my family is happy, I am happy.. We had two people in our group that had birthdays, all the waiters came with musical instruments, sang happy birthday and the dj played the classic happy bday song lol. What made it more funny and special because this place is small, when the waiters came to sing happy bday, the whole restaurant played a long as well and they gave the birthday boys Colombian sombreros lol. They upsell with pictures as well, a lady comes around and takes pictures, they frame them and come by your table to sell them, this was nice because I purchased three frames that were nice pictures. Also as a bachelor let me tell you, they were some honeys in here. I wanted to get my Mac on but because I was with my fam and this place was very small with a mixed singles and family atmosphere I had to resist but indeed there were pretty females up in here. This place is cool if you looking to party and eat. Again me personally, if am going to full set restaurant I like the whole dining experience without loud music other than that I had a good time. All love! No hate but they do have a small ass...

My experience at Pueblito Viejo was the worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant. First off, my sister in law planned her birthday party here and called ahead of time to find out if she needed to make a reservation. They said no, we needed to come early so that we can get a table. We came early to save a table as instructed but was stopped at the door because they couldn’t seat us since our full party wasn’t present. We told them they are on their way but was still refused a table. They ended up saying that at least half of our party needed to be present so we can sit. Finally we get seated but didn’t foresee the terror up ahead.

As we are checking out the menu our waitress approaches our table and starts separating our tables into 3 groups because for some reason she’s only allowed to split our check 3 ways. In other restaurants when they need to split the check they just split the check, they don’t literally split up a whole party. We put our orders in and get multiple mistakes. From items missing to completely forgetting the order. The birthday girl’s order was wrong multiple times and one of her guests ends up not getting her food at all.

We were basically forced out of this restaurant due to poor quality in service AND poor treatment by the workers. The manager was very rude from the beginning. Our waitress started off nice but ended up being very rude at the end. Another waiter that was just passing by called someone from our party fat. His exact words were (in Spanish) ā€œDon’t listen to that fat girlā€. He was speaking to his fellow coworkers but we all definitely heard and definitely understood what he said.

That was the end for us. We had to leave. Of course I can’t provide pictures because pictures can’t capture our experience here but please take my word for it. We will not be returning and will never recommend to anyone.

I know they will try to rebuttal my review and make me sound like we were the problem but that should show that they actually were terrible if they feel the need to cover...

I want to set the picture, we went here on a Wednesday with a party of 12 ppl, there were only 2 other persons in the place, so you should expect the server to be extra dedicated because we were going to be his biggest tip of the night but it was not like that. From the beginning the experience wasn't a good, we had to asked for the water, the birthday girl wanted to dance so she asked the server for a different music but his answer was "No, that's on Friday and weekends". I mean, What? We were the only people there just go to the computer and shuffle some Spotify, what's the problem?. -We spent all night asking for the water to be refilled-. Now the food, it was good. I had the churrasco, it was tasty, everything the yuca, the plantains, the potatoes and the meat. But the meat was way to greasy and had way to much condiments for my taste, maybe using only salt and pepper would be better for me. I also ordered a Fried arepa with cheese for $5, what a scam!. I'm Venezuelan I know about arepas (I've paid $10 for an arepa with pleasure so I'm not saying it's expensive, I'm saying that arepa is not worthy). I won't be back and probably won't recommend this place either

We came here based off the previous review and please don’t believe everything you read! This place is way over rated. We order the Bandeja Pueblito! We waited a hour for the food! Everything came back cold?! You would think waiting that long it would be nice and hot NOPE! regular white rice! the steak was small very disappointing ,my sweet banana was not ripe! My egg was not yokie was cold the beans had no flavor the goya beans taste way better than this, the pork skin was super oily hard scraped the roof of my mouth my teeth hurt now :( from biting it. The portions are small I had barely any rice and beans. And we went on a Saturday evening and it was not really busy at all. Pictures are deceiving! it looks good, but it really wasn’t nothing special very bland not much flavor. IM STILL HUNGRY:……( . Only thing that came out hot was the empanadas that’s it. I will stick to what I know is good. This is definitely not worth $22 this dish I would say maybe $15 tops and I’m being generous with the $15. I am sorry to say this place is not that good maybe if it was hot and the portions was bigger and more flavor maybe. I will never come back here. Very disappointed.

Finding a good place to eat, it’s usually so tricky. Pueblito Viejo has a real good atmosphere for dining in. My wife and I came in for the first time on a Sunday night and the place didn’t disappoint. The food is so delicious and the margaritas were so good -we had 3 rounds. Diana, our server, was very attentive and helpful, God knows we’re a couple of really picky and sort of ask for so much sometimes but she was very patient and friendly. One suggestion for the owners though, one thing we couldn’t get is spicy salsa or spicy jalapeƱos. I’m not one to eat spicy but my wife is and I always want to please her. The salsa with the arepa we got at first wasn’t spicy and then we asked for spicy jalapeƱos to which we had assumed it was going to be spicy, they weren’t at all. Next time, if you have no spicy sauce we’re bringing our own. We’ll bring friends to dine in with us next time.
