Before I begin my short story, please be advised : it's shocking. Being accepted at the Red Carpet Inn was initially, as I also expressed to the woman at the desk on Monday April 30th, an extreme relief due to the fact that our 8 month old pup is very sick and is not welcome in most places.... Other places were too costly for us. And being week of Derby in Jeffersonville- all is booked far and wide and hard to come by. The general manager told me we could only stay for ONE night because they had ALL rooms reserved for the week. At least we were good with our puppy for one night. That evening things got brighter when I met the Lady who works for eve shift. She opened the doors for us to choose should we need 2 additional nights. And she was very pleasant too. She also revealed that there were MANY rooms available for the week but that we would NEED a credit card to hold one. We were able not only to pay the cash for 2 additional nights, securing our lot with a child and sick puppy, but also for the man who had been looking out for us. And right next door. With all this said, It is with sincere regret that any of those kind words may ever be written. On Tuesday, May 1 at approximately 1pm we were scared by an officer who politely told us we should leave the property. After some questions and conversation ,and also another officer arriving at the scene, it was explained that we had allowed another guest from the hotel, whom I had just met in the lobby as she was in tears, to briefly enter our room. What? The officers also expressed that this is not the way proper protocol should be. They were kind enough to pave the way in speaking with Jennifer at the front desk. We were told we could stay. .... At approximately 230 pm the housekeeper, heavy set black curly haired woman, told us to leave or she would be calling the police again. We were then forced to leave by more aggression by the general manager, who is female. We were forced to leave with NO refunds. The general manager kept 2 nights paid unused. I attempted to explain our story to her and how that money was very much needed, but she had absolutely no remorse. She would not return our unused payments of 2 additional evenings nor would she be willing to refund even one. We, my 20 year old son, 8 year old boy, and a very sick puppy who is now currently enduring an emergency hospital stay due to a life threatening disease, had to immediately pack up in 80 degree weather . Needless to say, the hotel was extremely lacking: The toilet seat was detached from the commode, and didn't even fit to size, the dust was unrealistically stacked, they refused to give one additional towel being there were 3 people and not just 2, the air conditioner did not work -nor did the window open, there was no fitted sheet on the mattress....and more. However, we only asked for a towel out of all these things. I pray this post will save anyone who may be considering this dungeon.

Read moreWorst stay in my life. The room wasnt bad. The phone didnt work. The TV remote did not work. The lights in half the room was missing bulbs. The air and heat did not work. Was lied to by the late night guy. Said he would bring a fan. Asked for a handicapped room for my wife. Was charged accordingly and the room was not handicapped! Room 127 isnt for handicapped people. I officially complained to whoever handles the complaints. They obviously just handed it off to the manager because he was completely clueless to what happened and believed his horrible employees instead of listening to my concerns. He sent email saying it's been busy but I finally got a chance to.investigate...um yeah this happened the same day he sent it. Said I reserved a room (I walked in) said I asked in advance for handicapped room 118 (the only room they have) yeah guys...you read it right. I didnt stay in room 118 I was in 127. Had the receipt to show him I even told him the smallest details in room 127 for proof I was in room 127 and he replied yes the paperwork says 127 but you stayed in our only handicapped room 118...i mean i have pictures of.the junk cars and junk mopeds right out of.my door.127. He offered a free night stay and i said no i would.like a refund as i wouldnt dare stay there again. He replied with a few choice words thinking I'm a complete liar and said they would refund the 76.05 i paid. Needless to say he did not. I forwarded a cc all of the response to a email I assumed was the owner. Never heard back. Never was refunded. They are complete morons that have a mormon leading them. I was nice and very polite the entire time but I hope this review lands to someone that can review their performances and make the changes necessary for the ones paying and deserve better than junk cars and mopeds, non working lights and air conditioning and over priced rooms that they offer but we do not receive. Plain and simple... pathetic at its finest. You disgust me mr. General manager of liars. You know they lied just to save their own butts and it was obvious. Now I give me the refund you said you would. Not because I want it, but because you sir, owe it to me and my wife for the miserable night you allow to happen. I'll gladly post the emails of our conversations here for all to read. I believe that's within reasons to allow people to see how you handle your customers that are...
Read moreUPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: AS OF AUGUST 9, 2024 IF I COULD POST PICTURES ON MY PHONE I WOULD!!!! THE BEDS ARE DISGUSTING AND SOME CURTAINS DO NOT GIVE YOU PRIVACY IN A ROOM YOU PAID FOR!!! I do have to say once you stay there for a few days you start getting disrespected mostly by the black woman at the front desk I can't remember her name. You have to stay on them for 5 hours just to attempt to get them to come look at a curtain situation where it's not covering the window and you don't have privacy. You go up there at 7:00 in the morning and nobody's there the on call number ending in 4661 you can't seem to get anybody to answer. Melissa does everything she can to be able to keep the front desk staff at check but there's really no respect given towards customers when you stay there for 2 days or more. I don't know what the situation is but according to what I heard they're only doing what their instructed to do by the owners but if the owners are going to be telling them to disrespect people and treat them like garbage that's not very good at running a business definitely not good customer service practice. So whatever the situation is in the past they just lost a good customer because of their hatefulness snobbiness and disrespectfulness.
So the motel isn't that close to anything really there's a gas station about a 15 minute walk and a U-Haul about a 5 minute walk but that's about it. The staff are nice as all get out, especially Melissa she's a great person and really helpful and the other staff (as well as her) do what they can to fix anything in their control. As for the rooms they could use some upgrades and fixing but it's actually really quiet at this motel and the beds are very comfortable. Showers are pretty small but kinda relaxing (old school vibes) it is an old building and some outdated things but it's a work in progress and things can only get fixed as the...
