Absolutely beautiful place for outdoor activities.. this had been my go to morning jog place for a long time now.. it's been well maintained and allows lots of space for garden and tracks workout... Cute hang out place for pets and their owners.. it literally makes my day to watch all the pets run around and play with their owners, chase pigeons etc.. so much fresh air to breathe right in the middle of the city... Had a citi bike stand right on the Central Ave side of the exit where you can rent bikes for an entire day for just $12!! The crowd is pretty athletic and of all she groups, diverse and very friendly.. with fitness junkies doing the laps.. I also enjoy visiting here in the evening hours with an adjacent garden and playground for kids, it's fun watching the kids play around.. great place for evening strolls.. there are NJ Transit bus stops on the Central Ave side if the park that takes you to the city at Port authority... It's slay very closely connected to places withing the Jersey City with other routes available at the Central Ave.. the best part is that you can find water fountain and public rest room at this place which again is well maintained.. I would definitely recommend visiting this place in the evening at least once if you are in it around Jersey City...
Read moreA beautiful park right in the heart of heights area in jersey city. Its Big, Beautiful, eventful and highly connected location. Its a nice place for kids to play, to get some fresh air and to learn different sports. There is big loop available around the grass field for kids and adults to either run, walk or to ride a bicycle. Dont miss the war memorial here that is dedicated to vietnam war heroes. There are so many trees planted in their memories it felt so nice to see that. Also here you can enjoy both the cherry blossom and fall season. Winters are even more amazing when its covered with snow, you can go there with kids and family and make big and beautiful snow man. The only problem i see here is its kind of crowd y at evening time, but again, everyone whats to be at best place to spend some quality time and to make memories. Considering the pandemic situation, i will suggest to avoid occupying crowdy space. Wear mask and keep sanitizing your hands. Stay safe stay happy and stay...
Read moreOver the years, this park has improved tremendously, with 2 well maintained, fenced in baseball fields with stadium lighting, an operational field house with facilities, a newly redesigned children's playground, and paved track that is smooth for skating, skateboarding, scootering, and walking (no mud), but I don't know if runners like the hardtop. Lots of neighborhood support for beautiful flower beds at the west entrance. The basketball and tennis courts are well used. On a breezy September evening so many people were enjoying the park for exercise, socializing, volleybàll, dognwalking, or learning to ride a bike. Cons: how can there be such a big park and no dog run??!!! The basketball and tennis courts need some love and attention. Why are there a padlocked bocci court and canopied picnic tables that NO ONE is...
