I guess it's my fault for assuming most nicer hotels are smoke-free these days; I should have looked for "smoke-free property" somewhere on the description. Our room was labeled a smoke-free room, but in this hotel that designation didn't really matter. The hallway was always so full of smoke – day and night – that we held our breath to get to our room (it's weird, we never actually SAW anyone smoking in the halls, but the smell was that strong). We tried to open our room door as seldom as possible, but even still, the smoke wafted in. At night I would cover my face with a sheet to try to filter out the smell, but the sheets and towels smelled like stale smoke that didn't get washed out. We set the A/C to a freezing cold temperature to try to filter the air out; there wasn't a "constant on" setting for just the fan. The problem was, every time the A/C turned off, the unit continued to make sounds that I can only describe as grinding boulders. Not conducive to sleeping!
This wouldn't have been so bad if most of my family, especially my 8-year-old nephew, wasn't allergic to smoke and suffering from upper respiratory problems. Then it would just be gross. Unfortunately, the smell was so strong it was nauseating in addition to causing us all to wake up congested every morning.
It's really too bad, because the room was very nice, especially for the price, and we loved the fact that we could use the kitchen to make a leisurely breakfast in the morning, or convene for pizza at night. There was lots of space to hang out and do things together, and the saltwater pool was fun.
So in the end, if you are a smoker or are not bothered by cigarette smoke, this was a great hotel – great location right off the highway and across from Worlds of Fun; big, comfortable rooms; nice amenities; good price. For us, unfortunately, it was a bit of a nightmare, and we'll have to look for other accommodations next time we're...
Read moreMy recent stay was for work and the hotel was better than the last one I stayed at near kci airport. While I encountered issues as soon as I arrived, the staff did their best to mitigate the issues and provide some kind of solution or resolution to it. The bed I had wasn't the best, but they did their best to resolve my issue with it. I experienced issues with nosey guests above me and brought it to their attention. They spoke to the guest. The elevator smelled heavily of smoke and I wasn't the only one to say something, but hailey one of the front desk clerks spent several days cleaning it to remove the odor. One day during my stay it rained and over night it froze over. I almost fell twice trying ro walk to my car and asked that in the future salt be thrown out to prevent slip n falls. I noticed several guests with pets and when exiting or entering the building noticed that many had failed to clean up their pets droppings either in the grass or in a few cases on the side walk. On my last night their, I went swimming and their was hardly any towels in the pool area to use to dry off. A family entered the pool after we had been there and was very loud and boisterous. Their kids repeatedly jumped, flipped, or dove into the pool even after repeated mentions of the sign forbidding said actions. Their repeated displays of this caused high volumes of water to get splashed onto the walkway around the pool n got mine and my finances shoes wet and almost got water on our cell phones. We then collected our belongings n left the pool area. And the bathtub shower is way to slippery n should have a shower mat of...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent one-night stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of our expectations, and I feel compelled to bring several issues to your attention.
Upon entering the bathroom, my significant other encountered a plumbing problem that required immediate attention. The pipe was disconnected from the sink, causing water to flood the bathroom floor when the faucet was turned on. He fixed the plumbing problem.
Moreover, our dissatisfaction was further compounded by several observations throughout the room. We discovered dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, a lack of a shower curtain for the shower, a dirty microwave, only a quarter of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, and trash remaining in the kitchen trash can. These oversights detracted significantly from the overall cleanliness and comfort of our stay.
Despite bringing these issues to the attention of your staff and requesting assistance with essential amenities such as toilet paper and a shower curtain, we were disappointed to find that the shower curtain was not installed by the individual who brought it to us. Instead, I had to address the installation myself.
In summary, I must express my deep displeasure with the quality of our stay at your hotel. As valued guests, we expected a higher standard of service and attention to detail. I hope that you will take our feedback seriously and take appropriate measures to address these concerns to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future guests.
Thank you for your attention to...
