I stayed at this hotel recently, and my experience was not only extremely disappointing but, at times, unsafe and unprofessional. I want to share all the issues I faced so other travelers can be aware.
Valet Damage: Upon returning my vehicle, I noticed a deep cut/scratch on the rear bumper. I reported this immediately, but the valet manager failed to follow up. It was only after escalating the issue that I received a response, which was dismissive—they claimed they contacted the wrong person and stated there was “no evidence” of damage. They did not review video footage to verify the condition of my vehicle at drop-off or return. The only offer of compensation was a refund of one day’s valet fee, which is completely inadequate for the damage caused to my luxury vehicle.
Room Maintenance Negligence: I reported that my toilet was not flushing properly and requested that staff fix it while I stepped out. When I returned, the problem had not been addressed. The next morning, the toilet overflowed, flooding the bathroom and the room. I had to frantically use towels to try to contain the water, but it was impossible to prevent the mess. This situation was entirely avoidable and reflects a complete lack of responsiveness and attention to guest maintenance requests.
Harassment and Safety Concerns: The most disturbing aspect of my stay was that, on two separate occasions, two separate employees made inappropriate advances toward me, asking me out. This is completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe. The very next day, I immediately left the hotel after the second employee asked if I was available to meet him after his shift.
As a multi-year Platinum and once Titanium Marriott Bonvoy member, you can imagine the number of nights I’ve stayed at Marriott locations across the US and internationally. I have never, in all my extensive travel experience, had hotel staff—not one, but two separate employees—feel comfortable or think it was appropriate to make advances toward me as a guest. This behavior is shocking and completely unacceptable.
I reported these incidents to Marriott corporate. The operations manager, Robert Llama, responded by saying they would “verify” my claims by interviewing staff and reviewing video footage. However, he did not ask for the specific details necessary to identify the employees or the timing of these incidents. His approach, expecting staff to somehow admit they made advances toward a female guest without any context, is absurd and dismissive. It demonstrates a lack of empathy, seriousness, and proper procedure for handling harassment claims. Female guests traveling alone should never feel unsafe or harassed by hotel staff, and Marriott’s inadequate response is deeply concerning.
Overall Experience: Between the damage to my vehicle, the failure of staff to respond promptly to maintenance issues which led to flooding in my room, and the harassment by employees, my experience fell far below any reasonable standard of safety and service that you come to expect from Marriott. The hotel management and Marriott corporate should take these concerns seriously and act appropriately to protect their guests. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially...
Read moreI personally do not recommend to stay here ..it will be complicated . I have stayed here at this hotel frequently for location & convenience being under the impression it was a good value & low points requirement for free night while doing business & found that altho the staff can be efficiently professional, some friendly & polite Property is overall managed poorly .. it has mold & other issues in outdated rooms, ice cold pool non working hot tub,, only one washer & dryer available for guests of entire hotel, long parking valet wait, no shutlle services... guests smoking weed on terraces and a lot of smelly bird poop on city side Plunbing not good in some rooms no housekeeping service. They slip in extra charges each & every time. Repeatedly I have been charged for point stays under many different pretences, usually duplicate reservations or more recently delayed by front desk line delaying my check out or not honoring virtual check out or disability accommodation . On my last stay which was a Bonvoy point business short stay, I reqyesred accommodation for disability because I had an injury to my left hand & foot impairing my mobility. In a disabled room. I found for some assistance check out they assured me that they were checking me out & would bring to me a luggage cart so while I waited I finish drying my laundry because there's only one washer/dryer & another guest was using it.. They said they understood & when I went to desk for folio receipt upon leaving there were no extra charges. Then how much to my horror when I try to book an Uber my bank account had been cleaned out. and j had been charged for the night as well as held incidental fees. My bank & Bonvoy couldnt help becausd they are independently franchised. I ended up in a very cold lobby for 17 hours after they told me to reserve another night in trickery to charge me for another night without a disability accomodation room available after saying if i pay an additional $273 i could go back into the roomni had and apply the extra payment towards that. The hardship and suffering for me to stay in the lobby with all my luggage for 17 hours with unbearable before I could get a friend to wire me money so that I could just leave then they tried to offer me a free room .I went to go take a look at the room and it was full of mold so i left the property in a statebof near collapse to retrieve my vehicle from the dealership it was being serviced at. I almosg died. I am a Senior over age 60 so this wasnt good pushing my health to the brink and they seem to still care less wont refund. So now hotel under rennovations ... I dont think i stay there ever again. * wish anyond wish who does good luck with that. It isn't a good option for business stay at all. They arent very accomodating nor hospitable to disability, seniors or business travelers. After refunding nd the first time this happened & many room changes due to poor quality rooms I wasnt expecting to be treated in such a sadistic manner. Last manager hung up on me tonight when I phoned to inquire about refund status. Mosf likely will file a BBB complaint after months of patiently trying to negotiate justice for...
Read moreI came to Miami for surgery. I thought this would be a great place to stay based on the convenient location. It's two blocks from my surgeon's office and across from Publix. I have never been in a place that was less accommodating. I rented a car for the first three days. Not only is valet parking $25 per day, it's mandatory! I can't believe that a hotel wouldn't provide you with a place to park. $25 is a lot seeing how long you have to wait for them to get the car. Since I had to stay here for six days, I bought food from the grocery store. There is NO microwaves available for the rooms but they said I could come downstairs and use the one in the lobby. Let's not forget I said I just had surgery and could barely walk to the bathroom. I brought my firestick for entertainment. Naturally, the way they have the tv mounted makes it impossible to access the hdmi port. I needed to wash clothes and they brag about having a washer and dryer on the floor. However, there's no change machine and they don't have change at the front desk. I guess they wanted me to walk to the bank to get change too.(just had surgery) Part of the complications of having surgery is swelling that requires a licensed therapist to move the fluid. I hired a therapist. They charged me to park her car and would NOT give her one hour to park for free. Then they say they have an airport shuttle. You have to pay $14 to get shuttled to the airport. I woke up with a fever, my doctor told me to drink a Coke. Unfortunately, this hotel only has Pepsi products. Where most hotels these days provide a continental breakfast for free, this hotel has breakfast that is expensive. $5 for a bowl of oatmeal is ridiculous. I am in a lot of surgery groups on FB and IG, this hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a popular surgeon, I will deter anyone from coming here. You have turned at $800 stay into well over $1000. This...
