First of all, I've been to the one in Brickell, many times. So for me to write this review it's because I am truly shocked.
Tables are so LOW. You have to have a hunch back to eat. Sticky surfaces everywhere, the table, the floor, the chairs.
I went for happy hour and ordered the 5 pcs korean BBQ wings, 3 pc tostones ceviche, 8 pc sake aburi, 4 pc crispy salmon, and a coke.... for a bill of $50!!! 5 0 dollars. Highway robbery. AT LEAST FOR THE SUB PAR QUALITY.
Korean BBQ wings - so dry, so tart, almost like an expired sauce on the wings.
Sake Aburi- did they disguise rubber tires as the crab meat? like I know Miami restaurants don't use fresh or real fish but like even imitation crab which isn't even crab that you buy at a grocery store tastes better than this. The TRUFFLE AIOLI HAS TO GO. It ruins the whole thing... or maybe they used it to mask the tire scent i have no idea. I almost threw up at the table.
Crispy salmon- i mean it was ok. the outside was like a croquetta. no complaints.
Tostones- no complaints although suspicious looking cause the fish looks... not fresh but again! i came in knowing that. so I'm really not trying to sound crazy writing this but there's like a 4.6 rating at this joint... LOL
Also - our waiter forgot to put an order in.
I don't know, maybe they just can't take this location as seriously because there are less people but it's a sad and disappointing experience when you have had better from the same...
Read moreI’ve always loved Pubbelly it’s been one of my favorite spots, especially for happy hour with my bestie. But my most recent visit was very disappointing. The manager never stopped by our table and if he or she did they did not introduce themselves, and our server, Maria C, was extremely inattentive. After dropping off waters, she disappeared for about 10–15 minutes before coming back to take our order, even though I was ready to order almost immediately. When I asked if they had any mocktails (since I’m currently not drinking as part of the 75 Hard challenge), she never followed up or brought me a menu. On top of that, she didn’t offer a single recommendation or walk me through the menu — it felt like she just didn’t care. I ended up spending around $162, which I don’t mind because I love dining out and I work in the hospitality industry myself. I know what attentive, genuine service looks like and this wasn’t it. What made it worse was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. At most, her service might have earned 15%, but with a guaranteed 20% tip, she had no incentive to provide good hospitality. Pubbelly has been a place I really enjoyed, but this experience left me disappointed. I strongly encourage management to reevaluate both the auto-gratuity policy and how their servers are trained, because right now it’s sending the wrong message to guests.
(Ps. If I could give Maria no...
Read moreNow we understand why this location is always empty. The service at this Pubbelly Sushi is really bad, and it’s not a cheap place, so the service should be excellent.
The person who welcomes you didn’t acknowledge we were there. She doesn’t even say the usual “how many”, “welcome”, anything. Then the server Bdidn’t tell us about the happy hour specials, we found out about that like in the middle of our lunch because another server (with a good attitude) told us about it. We were there with some family members who don’t speak English, and when we asked her if she speaks Spanish, she gave us some attitude, changed her facial expression and said NO. Then everything was in a rush, taking the dishes out of the table like if we were running or something. And at the end, she brought the check to the table without even asking if we were ready to check out, and we weren’t, we wanted coffee. But after the terrible experience we had, we decided it was better to have it in another place, so we left.
The service is better in any McDonald’s you go to. Now we know that if we want to go to this restaurant again, we just have to go back to the one located in Brickell, because even when is packed, and you have to make a reservation beforehand, you are well received and treated...
