I visited Delicias de Espana Dadeland for lunch today. I was seated inside and I waited for a while, and no server showed up to give me a menu or asked me what I would like to order. I looked around and no server was nearby, however I noticed that there were other people that came after I did and they already had menus and bread on their tables. 10 minutes past by and I stood up and was heading to the main door to leave the restaurant. At that time a very rude guy asked me why I was leaving, I told them what happened and he replied that I was lying and that I have been seating there for only 1 or 2 minutes since he saw me when I arrived. I told him that I have been seating there for a while and that I was leaving because no one care to serve me, then he yelled at me YOU ARE A LIAR and he continued to argue with me. I come occasionally after a medical appointment on the same building and, even though I typically eat only a couple appetizers, I have to say the flavors are awesome!
My personal discovery at Delicias de España has to be the "Morcilla" (blood sausage) which they serve cut in slices and it's prepared according to one of the regional Spanish customs. It's absolutely delicious and probably the best I've had, together with some I ate years ago at a fancy restaurant in Buenos Aires, Argentina. If you need a second appetizer to get that fast lunch going, for a rather reasonable tab, I loved the "Tortilla Española con Chorizo". All in all, it's twelve bucks of yummy Spanish tradition that's served promptly, opened up with warm bread, real butter and a glass of water. Not including tip.
That's one good reason to keep looking forward my next Dr's...
Read moreMy father was born in Cuba. Like many, he comes from a Spaniard father and mentality. He is always asking me out for lunch, and before, we would eat boats at another place, I never went back to that after we came here. He used to always go and meet up with friends he grew up with.
I did go and we all enjoyed a very authentic and yummy menu! Thank you Delicias de España, love eating at your place. And we eat everything!
Lately, my father has been very sick and in and out of the hospital. He even has to wear oxygen. But, thinking of the times we came here and shared quality time and conversations about my Spaniard ancestors, makes this restaurant extra special for me. Hope to be back very soon with him after he is a little better, I pray!
Keep up the fantastic work, all of...
