I am the foreman of an asphalt paving company, my office manager booked a 3 night stay for 7 guys at this motel. We checked in on 7/18/2017 at approx 6:30pm. We reserved 3 double rooms and 1 single room. The swimming pool is covered so it can't be used, while checking in the front desk area was extremely hot and there was a large fan to cool the desk worker, this should have been a clue. I was told they had run out of single rooms so I was going to get a jacuzzi suite, I thought cool. But was told not to use it because it leaked and would get the room wet, should have been second clue. I went to my room hallway was super hot, opened my door and my room was really hot with both ac units running, duh third clue. I went to the ac units and turned them cooler. I had been working out in the heat ( 95 degree, 105 with heat index) I just wanted to cool off. I went to the shower to take an almost cold shower by choice, looked down and there was a huge brown recluse spider still alive in the shower surrounded by 6 or 8 smaller dead ones. I don't know why I didn't leave at this point but I took toilet paper and killed the live one picked up smaller ones and flushed them, stupid. After I showered I got a call from my office manager stating 2 of my co workers had called her complaining of hot, dirty rooms saying they probably even have bed bugs. At this time I had been showered, dressed, while watching for spiders, and was actually sweating after my cool down shower. I went down to meet with my other guys in the breakfast area and sat there actually sweating. We left to eat and to go eat and everyone was complaining about the rooms. We went next door to Days Inn to check on their rooms. The lady at the desk was very nice, let us inspect 2 rooms and they were very cool. We decided we were going to get refund and stay at Days Inn. Talked to the manager he inspected our rooms saying that they were the best in town, holding his hand right in front of ac unit saying they were cooling even though the rooms were hot. We said no we were not staying there we just wanted a refund. He first said he would refund half for that night and full refund for the other 2 nights. Well that changed and he said he could only refund the 2 nights. I said that's fine do that and we will just contact super 8 corporate, and if that didn't work dispute credit card charges. By this time he was rather rude, but refunded 2 nights stay. We enjoyed 3 nights stay...
Read moreI had stayed at this hotel from 10/15/22 - 10/19/22, and upon checking in, I met the owner at the counter, named Rocky. I had made the reservation via a vendor and the reservation could not be canceled or refunded. Upon walking down the hall to my room #110, I noted how dirty the floors were, along with the walls, the carpet, and general condition of the building. Upon entering my room, I noted that the electrical components were plugged into an outlet that had exposed wiring, no cover. This was a fire hazard. If I had children, it would be a safety issue. The facility advertised breakfast, which did not happen. I was informed there was coffee. I tried it. The coffee was not only ice cold, it was days old, and I poured it out. Although the proprietor was friendly, the place was as filthy as something you might expect in a very poor country. I can only describe my situation as disgusting. I could not get out of my payment. I now understand why they have a no refund policy upon making the reservation. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst best enemy. I paid $91.25 per night to stay here. I was raked. Please note. I had two experiences while there where there was a prostitute who entered the building escorted by another female. The impression I had was that they knew their way around, which means that the proprietor is aware. Secondly, there is no security at the entry points. There were two occasions where I was asked for money by street persons who simply walked into the lobby, which was unsupervised both...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, that would still be generous.
Firstly, the woman working the front counter came out of the office wearing pajamas after we stood there for 10 minutes. She checked us out and we went to our room. I was genuinely waiting for a hidden camera crew to come out because I thought we were being Punk’d with the level of disgusting the room was. You’ll see in my photos, multiple unidentified stains on the bedding, chairs, and other surfaces. Even the ceiling?? How that happens, I don’t know. The peephole had chewing gum in it and the bathroom was missing tiles.
The lock on the door was literally, I kid you not, held on by a breadtie. I unzipped the mattress covers and saw clear signs of bed bugs after investigating with my phone flashlight. We went to the front desk and asked for a new room. Showed the lady pictures and she said, “Well, that’s under the mattress cover.” Okay??? You still sleep ON that mattress. She showed us another room, which was just as disgusting as the first one.
We asked for written proof for a refund and she said they don’t do that. VERY suspicious and we’ll be speaking with our bank to dispute the charge. I’m also emailing photos to the management, which by the looks of his replies to other reviews, will probably fall on deaf ears.
Do yourself a favor and don’t touch this place with a 2-mile pole. Excuse me while I go shower 12 times and drown myself in sanitizer after stepping foot in this hotel. YUCK! Drive the extra 20 minutes to Drury Inn,...
