Thieves. I get that you have policies, but there’s policy, and then there’s good business, and if you don’t know the difference, you deserve to fail.
I booked with hotels.com, and at the last minute I had a change in my travel plans. I didn’t want to cancel my booking, I just wanted to change the date. Hotel policy is that changes can’t be made in the last 24 hours before check-in time. So here’s a business that would rather use their ‘policy’ to steal from customers, and get the subsequent bad reviews, than to waive the penalty and get repeat business. How stupid are you? Really — I’d like an answer.
I initially called the property and spoke to the person at the front desk, who informed me that the date change would not be allowed under policy, but also that the manager could approve it. I asked when the manager would be available and she told me, ‘After 12:00, if she comes in today.’ I asked for clarification to be sure I’d understood her, that the manager was going to roll in around noon, if she bothered to come in at all. Sounds like more good business from a real business genius.
So I called hotels.com and they called the property at around 1:30, and sure enough, the hotel refused to allow the date change.
I’m a hotels.com platinum member, which is nothing to get excited about, but what it does mean is that when a stupid stupid hotel manager refuses to accommodate a perfectly reasonable request, hotels.com refunds my money anyway. It’s the only reason I continue to book with them, because otherwise the refund process would be a deal-breaker. But as it stands, I really appreciate the service I get from them (now that I know the right number to press when I call). So when they offered to rebook me for my new travel date with no penalty, I said no thanks, I’ll just take the refund — I’ll stay someplace else, where management wants to serve their customers, not steal from them.
I don’t care how nice the property is. If it’s a dishonest business, it does not deserve YOUR business. They certainly won’t be getting any...
Read moreAvoid at all costs, this is an old hotel that had the absolute cheapest renovations done to it to try to bring it to hiltons standards. Graffiti in the elevator with duct tape holding the elevator lights together. There was construction material in the hallways and ceiling tiles missing throughout the hotel. There is paint on the outlets from the renovation because they were too cheap to pull them off when painting the rooms. Everything felt dirty and the bed sheets looked like they had been crammed in a bag before they put them on the bed (super wrinkly) I walked into the room and left so I didn’t sleep there and it took many phone calls before finally was able to get a refund. I don’t know how this hotel can be part of the Hilton brand but it was by far the worst hotel I have ever seen by far.
The lady at the front desk was nice but she said she would refund me the money but somehow instead double charged me for the room I didn’t even sleep in. It took 3 calls to the Hilton support line before they refunded me.
Read the low star reviews and consider that the 5 star reviews are most likely from the...
Read moreI have stayed here several times. This is not the fanciest hotel in town, but it is an excellent value. It has been recently renovated and everything seems to be clean and working in the rooms. I usually stay in a King sofa bed room and it spacious with plenty of room to work and relax. This room has a nice stand-up shower with quality shampoo/conditioner/etc. There are negatives too if they are things that you care about. The breakfast is very minimal. The only hot thing you'll get is a toasted bagel and coffee. The coffee is there 24 hours and is decent. The renovations appear decently done but I've stayed in multiple rooms and everything is functional and working, which is all I care about. Overall, I see this hotel as having everything I need and nothing I don't at a really good price. If you only need a clean, spacious, safe, and functional room and you can get it at a competitive price, this place is absolutely worth it. If they raise their prices where you can get (and want) a real breakfast or other amenities at the same price point, I would...
