Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at The Laureate Key West, and my experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome and exceptional service from the staff. Their friendliness and professionalism made me feel at home from the very start.
The room was simply spectacular. Spacious, modern, and elegantly decorated, it perfectly reflected the relaxed atmosphere of Key West. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the views from the balcony were unmatched, offering an impressive panorama of the ocean and surroundings.
One of the aspects I enjoyed most was the comfort of the facilities. The pool was a perfect place to relax, with comfortable loungers and a peaceful environment. Additionally, beach access was just a few minutes away, which was very convenient.
The hotel also has all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay, including a well-equipped kitchen in the room, ideal for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. However, there are also several excellent restaurants within walking distance, offering a great variety of dining options.
The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Key West. It is close to several popular attractions but far enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown to offer a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
In summary, my stay at The Laureate Key West was wonderful. The combination of exceptional service, high-quality facilities, and a perfect location makes this hotel an ideal choice for any visitor. Spoke to a representative from Reservation Desk at 1:30a.m.to help, which he did. I had him call the Laureate to verify TOTAL costs, and if they were indeed dog friendly. Information and charges verified and took my credit card information over the phone.I ALSO NEED TO STATE THAT I'M IN OHIO AND THE CREDIT CARD HOLDER. When arriving to check in, told additional costs were involved, which were NOT mentioned previously when asked. Due to the emergency situation and needing a place to stay, I agreed to pay by using the same credit card, verbally, over the phone, as previously done. WE WERE TOLD IF WE DIDN'T PAY CASH OR HAVE A CREDIT CARD THEY COULD SWIPE, THEY WOULDN'T HONOR THE RESERVATION, AND WE WOULD BE CHARGED CANCELLATION FEES. EXPLAINED AGAIN THAT I WAS IN OHIO WITH THE CREDIT CARD, SO OF COURSE THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL CARD TO SWIPE. ALSO SENT PICTURE OF CARD, BUT AGAIN TOLD IF WE DIDN'T PAY CASH(WHICH WE DIDN'T HAVE AT THE TIME) OR HAVE A CREDIT CARD TO SWIPE, THEY WOULDN'T HONOR THE RESERVATION. NO MANAGER TO SPEAK WITH AND VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES. I PERSONALLY WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE TO RESOLVE ISSUES, LISTEN TO PEOPLE AND TRY TO ACCOMMODATE THEIR NEEDS, NONE OF WHICH WAS DONE HERE. This was our first trip with our seven-month-old baby. We paid in advance for all four days through the Laureate website, a decision we regretted immediately upon entering our room (407). The smell of black mold was overwhelming. We attempted to improve the situation by opening the windows, but it did not help. The room is infested with mold and poses a significant health risk, particularly to children and individuals with respiratory issues. The presence of mold is undeniable and pervasive. A previous review described this place as "lipstick on a pig," which is entirely accurate. This establishment is essentially a 30-year-old Howard Johnson's motel that has undergone a superficial renovation. We chose this hotel because we have enjoyed stays at other Opal properties and expected a similar level of quality. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on all fronts. Additionally, I filed two complaints with the Florida Licensing Board: one concerning the mold and another regarding the only elevator being, what we would consider, out of order.
