I'm going to write the review I wish I had read...under no circumstances should you book a room here. This hotel is disgusting. You can tell they're trying to remodel and actually make this look like a decent place where human beings can room and board...but it's just on the outside. This is to trick you into thinking this is a clean, decent hotel. It's not. Once you actually go into a room, you realize what a dump this place actually is. But too late! They have your money and you're out of luck.
First bad sign: we pull into the hotel parking lot. We're about to check in, when a gentleman approaches our car. He ACTUALLY TELLS US to avoid this hotel because it has ROACHES. YES ROACHES. He tells us he just checked in and spotted a few. He was going to the front desk to request a refund. My boyfriend and I look at each other, shrug and both agree: well, let's see. We're still trusting the okay reviews we saw online. Maybe it was just a fluke.
We check in. The hotel room we're given is in another building, different to the one the gentleman came from. Maybe it was just his building with the roach problem? We're still optimistic.
We go in our room. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting! The place smells moldy, the sheets are dingy, the pillows look matted and worn out. We inspect the room. There's a dresser inside that we open to check out, and imagine our surprise when we see old clothes INSIDE THE DRESSER. Old dingy bathing suits and moldy smelling clothes. Gross!
Then we finally come across what we have been dreading: tiny roaches. We saw one in the bathtub and another cross our room as it disappeared under our bed. We were done.
We load our things back into the car and go straight to the front desk office. We request a refund, which the lady at the front desk denies. She demands we provided "pictures". Mind you, my boyfriend was there when the gentleman from before with the roaches was requesting his refund. He was right in front of my boyfriend as he was complaining to her! She knows they have roaches! But she still needed proof that we saw roaches too. Infuriating.
We booked through a third party website, so she said our refund needed to come from them. She was completely unwilling to accommodate us. We didn't want to go back to our room, so we had to find another room last minute. Hellish!
Our trip was mid March. To date, the third party company has not responded to our request and it's looking more and more like we're going to have to eat the cost. We had the room booked for three days! Complete scam, disgusting hotel making us eat a $300 cost.
It's my hope that people read this review and this hotel never gets a single booking again. It was so incredibly stressful and definitely was a huge blemish on an otherwise lovely, awesome trip to Disney. Don't let them ruin your trip! Zero stars actually, you guys don't deserve it! Scamming roach hotel!
P.S. Don't book through AMOMA! Horrible, unprofessional third party booking website! They're getting the...
Read moreBlatantly lied to by hotel staff. Booked a deluxe room, took a downgrade to get a handicapped accessible room told it would be NO problem to get the difference refunded. Management denied the request when contacted by Expedia and kept my money.
There were ants by the sink. Ants in the drawer of the nightstand and ants on the floor by the door.
I found a large wad of hair inexcusably rolled up in one of the towels. There were numerous hairs on the bottom sheet my second night. Glitter from some previous occupant was everywhere. Room was decently clean otherwise.
Amenities included a large TV, no guide channel or listing provided by facility. Apartment sized 'fridge. Kept things cold and frozen. Phone with broken cord. Clock radio, unused. Small microwave, also unused. K-Cup coffee maker and several coffee cups. Machine was due for a cleaning. A 5-drawer, small, dresser was also provided. One very low arm chair, the only seat, was in the room. I did not dare try it due to how low it was. I sat on the bed anytime I sat in the room.
Handicapped accommodations were limited. Bathtub area converted to shower with slippery ramp leading into shower. One grab bar in the shower on far wall. No anti-slip material on shower floor. All tile floor cleaned with some agent that reconstitutes when wet and turns floor into ice. Shoes, sandals and bare feet all had next to no traction when even mildly damp. One small, outdoor, welcome mat was provided for safety. Toilet had two grab bars, the back one being too close to structure and unusable. A shower stool, not bariatric, was provided. It's feet were literally packed with mold. Shower had hand-held head on adjustable bar. Water pressure was good.
Walkways outside were painted with gloss paint and when wet were also incredibly slippery. Parking area was clean. Only two handicapped spaces on the side of the building where I was.
Beds creaked and groaned, were very high for a handicapped room and mattresses were HARD and uncomfortable. I came home after three nights with sore spots on my lower back and hips. My back still hurts. No handicapped parking spots outside the office building. Long walk for a disabled person from parking to desk.
Surrounding area not the greatest, high concentration of panhandlers and homeless on the main streets. Traffic was horrible. Good selection of fast food and chain restaurants nearby as well as numerous ethnic mom & pop places. Gas station on same parking area with large shopping selection was a bonus. Rained most of my stay so I never bothered with the pool. It was closed for maintenance the day I arrived.
I was on the fence whether to recommend this location to other travelers. Handicapped people need to use caution but it wasn't the worst motel (it's NOT a resort despite the name) I've stayed it but the last straw was their deciding to keep a disabled person's money when I gave up a deluxe room for the chance of a little safety and accessibility....
Read moreWe got there late, but getting there it wasn't exactly what we expected at all. We called the resort before hand stating our flight was going to reach late and they told us someone was going to stay at the front desk to see us in. No one was there, it was dark, and it was kinda scary especially with this cat lurking around. Anyways, being from Canada we had no service and no way to contacting anyone but some numbers of people who worked there. Thankfully, our kind taxi driver lent us his phone and we called security and after sometime a security guard drove in (on a golf cart) and opened a room for us all. Going in it looked really modern and it was pretty comfortable as well! But we noticed a problem with something in our room and our location was very inconvenient. So in the morning we got moved but while moving my sister realized that she forgot her bag in the room literally minutes later she went back with my mom and the money from the bag was gone. Coins and all. Someone had went in there and stole it and it was a worker. We knew this because it happened again when we left our luggage out it was rummaged through to a point were everyday we had to lock our suitcases in a closet. Yes, locks and all. No one bugged us then. In our new room our phone was broken which they didn't fix til we were about to leave which we had complained about but the workers could barely talk English, some of them that is, so we moved on and ignored it. There was quite a bit of food and other conveniences in walking distance and Disney world was no further than a 20 minutes drive away so that was convenient. My best advice is to rent a car if your going to stay here (good car rental place is about a 15-20 minute walk away which wasn't that terrible honestly), it makes the stay much more bearable and going around to find ticket deals and many other things goes much smoother. The pool is very nice honestly it's clean and has nice little lawn chairs for parents to sit on and watch their children. They have a free barbecue section that is acessable on the roof and a nearby supermarket down the street. They also have fun little tennis court that is always open (you may have to purchase your own balls) One other down fall would be to expect ants in the beds... They may or may not bite but there were a few nights when I caught one on my sheet. Also, airport shuttles will not recognize this location, they don't stop there either, so you will need a taxi from the airport which comes up to about $40-$60 Overall, after looking past the little things and having the car to get around it was An enjoyable stay but if walking and bugs is a huge issue and you don't want to put the effort in to take caution of your luggage,...
