La Bamba Mexican Restaurant Lafayette — Restaurant in Lafayette

The food is mediocre at best. We used to love it at this restaurant Pre-COVID. However, whoever the new management/team running the restaurant has let it go down the drain. Their regular veggie burrito is tasteless almost (no, it’s not due to COVID). The chips in their nachos are stale and quickly become soggy before you can get home because it is swimming in too much cheese and beans, also quality of chips is low. Also depending what you get the price for the quality of food you’re getting is overpriced. I gave it a two star because the employees are nice, polite, and they accept multiple forms of convenient payment methods. I would’ve loved to have given it a higher rating because you do get a good amount for your portions, however I prefer quality over quantity. Nothing is fresh here and you can tell. The service is very quick, so that is a plus. All in all, we will not be returning here...

This is my favorite Mexican food place ever! Recently, mainly in the evenings the quality of the food is horrible once the manager leaves. They have no problem charging you for sour cream they just ALWAYS forget to add it. Our burrito shells were so burnt we couldn’t even bite into them. The grease was dripping from the bottom of the bag. One of our burritos wasn’t even wrapped, it was shaped like a taco and many ingredients weren’t even requested so it should have been elementary on wrapping. I will visit again but only during the daytime hours when management is present and actually cares about the product going out the door. Please hire people who actually care about good service and quality product because I don’t want to have to find a new place for a burrito! Nobody does is like you guys!...

Yesterday, my husband and I decided to drop into La Bamba after hearing how good the food is. Well, upon entering, we noticed it was empty. Alright, I got a bit skeptical, but decided to try out the food anyway. We noticed that the kitchen was full of young girls prepping food. They seemed to know what they were doing; therefore, we figured to just get something basic to eat. I ordered a torta de asada, and my husband ordered dos de tripa y dos de chorizo. Pretty simple order. Well, when we received the food, it was entirely raw. The inside of my torta had pink meat inside of it, and the tacos de tripa was disgustingly raw to the point we can see the clarity of the tripe (intestines.) Hopefully other customers didn't receive such raw...
