I went here with my mom. We were out shopping and having a girls day. She was looking for a mirror, vanity, desk, or something to put in her bathroom to do her makeup. It was the first time I had ever went in this store and it will be my last. We were walking around, all over the store, and looking at everything (because I had never been and she said it was amazing). We were followed around the store and watched. We didn’t find anything she was looking for, so we decided to leave, but ended up going to the restroom before we left. (We had went to sonic and got drinks before going in)… No one says a word to us until we get to the door to walk out… and the store manager (who was waiting at the door for us) stops us and says “Is there something I can help you with?”, it was then that I realized they thought we were stealing. It made me sick. I will never go back. My mom is getting older and that day is one day that I have to cherish having alone time with her. They made us feel like thieves for shopping around. 100% not ok. I wish I hadn’t stepped a foot in that door because that is the only bad part of my day with my mom. About the store I highly recommend it. A+for inventory A+for choice, and the restrooms are as clean as hospitals. One employee by the name of John helped me and handled my request about a damaged product that was on clearance perfect 5 stars ...However he had to introduce me to the manager Mr personality Mike.. He has no business dealing with retail customers. The way he told me no to my request of a little more off because of the damage was absolutely demeaning. I totally understood that was all they could do on price.. I'm not that kind of customer I just wanted to ask . As a sales trainer for many years here is what would have earned the store he manages 5 stars... "Hello my name is Mike how can I help you Jeff.. Jeff says can you do any more discount on this light that's broken. Mike I'm sorry jeff I realize it is damaged but the 50%Off is all I can do ... MIKE says "But thank you for asking because we are trying to give you some good service and prices .. At Home appreciates your business . Nice selection of things but don’t go there unless you want to be pressured into signing up for the rewards system. The lady at the checkout asked us 5 times if we wanted to sign up and we politely declined every time and she keep going on and on about all the benefits even tho we had made clear we were not Interested and just wanted to finish our purchase and move on with our day. Eventually she got annoyed with us declining and just said “we will just take more of your money then” in a snarky tone. When we finally left she said “Hope you have a better day” At no point were we rude to her but if you get asked over and over and held up like that you just get a little frustrated after a while.
