My family recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Marriott in Lake Oswego for the July Fourth Weekend. Our stay was for four nights, as we checked in on Thursday July 2nd and checked out on Monday July 6th. I thought I should let someone in management know that we have been a little frustrated with our stay. Starting from the very beginning with check-in, the front desk staff seemed very disinterested in helping me. There were two front desk clerks behind the counter; one was helping another guest and the other clerk looked directly at me standing there while I waited. The other clerk finished up with the guest she was helping and then the two of them looked at each other. The one girl that was never busy asked the other if she wanted her to help me. WHY in the world did she just stand there staring at me for roughly five to ten minutes if she could have just helped me?! I never received a "hello, can I help you?" or a "welcome to our hotel". I believe the girl's name that very unwillingly checked me in is Austin. I am not sure what the other clerk's name is that was working with her. Our other issue is that your hotel describes your amenities at this location as having laundry "facilities". This is very frustrating because the guest laundry services has ONE washer and ONE dryer...FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL. That is ridiculous. There are five floors of guests at this hotel! Tried several times to access this "ammenity" only to find that it was already being utilized and there were actually guests waiting in line. You should not advertise your hotel as having a laundry room if it is only able to accommodate one guest at a time in such a large hotel. To make matters worse, when I went down to the front desk to inquire if there were more machines on other floors, there was no one at the front (although I could clearly hear them behind the back wall) and had to wait for someone to come assist me. This would not have been so bad except that I was greeted with the same lack of enthusiasm by the young gentleman clerk. When I asked about other machines, he gave me a snarky, sarcastic response that those are the only machines FOR GUESTS. His tone and facial expression of rolling his eyes at me implied that, "of course there are other washers and dryers, but those are for employee use and you really should know that". Anyway, I was never able to get my laundry done that I needed to do. In addition to this, housekeeping banged on the door the...
Read moreWe loved the staff!!! My husband had broken his leg badly and needed surgery. We traveled over 100 miles to get this surgery. We ended up staying five nights. My husband needed an ice pack on his leg several times during the day, throughout his stay and the staff was great in accommodating the huge ice pack in their freezer, day or night. The staff made us feel welcomed and at home as best as we could. They all knew our situation and was very caring and concerned as if we were their own family. They all went above and beyond in making sure our needs were met!!! Karilyn-General Manager, was kind and helpful with children's activities. She was understanding because she's a busy working mom. She was happy to help accommodate our large ice pack that we had to freeze several times. Austine-She helped check us in the first night and always had a smile on her face. She was able to accommodate the right room for my husband and made sure it was just right! Ashley-kind and helpful with the ice pack. Shari-the breakfast lady!!!! She was wonderful!! So kind!! She knew of our situtation and was happy to put the ice pack in the freezer and grab it for us when we needed. She interacted well with our children. She had gone above and beyond with making sure we had enough to eat. She had made up extra fruit cups for us to take to our room for later. She understood that kids are always hungry and made sure we had enough to eat for later. Rachel-Kind and friendly! Also accommodated us with the ice pack. She made sure that my daughter had a little snack in the late afternoon. Jocelyn-She helped me check-in to a different room after my husband was in the hospital. She made sure I did't have to haul our bags and belongings far away. She was able to get me a room across the hall, so it was easy to move. Tham-the housekeeper. Even though English is challenging for him, we were able to make it work. My husband wanted to take a shower, which was difficult and painful with a broken leg, I wanted to change the sheets on the bed. I was able to catch him down the hall and get a new set of sheets. We worked together, he vacuumed while I zipped in and changed the sheets. He made sure we had fresh towels and trash liners. Please make sure that these employees are recognized for the outstanding work they have done. It was very much appreciated!!!!! You are lucky to have a wonderful staff running...
Read moreFrom our initial contact (when we randomly stopped in at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Portland South/Lake Oswego to discuss the possibility of having our wedding party stay at this location) to the time we checked out, our experience with this particular hotel's staff was phenomenal. Every person we encountered on the property from managers to front desk to kitchen to cleaning, were incredibly friendly and hospitable.
The check-in process was incredibly smooth and we did not have any errors to resolve with any of our reservations. All of our special requests for our group were handled in a way that made us feel as if we were the most important customers in the hotel. All of our rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable (beds included). The entire property has a very modern, up-to-date feel about it and is well maintained throughout. The location is not only convenient to get to by vehicle, but once you are there, it is within a short walk of several quality family-style restaurants and two Starbucks.
Our guests enjoyed the extended pool hours that we took advantage of late night after the wedding had taken place. The complimentary breakfasts were high quality and included plenty of options that included protein (sausage and scrambled eggs) and the house coffee was really good.
Overall, everyone in our group was impressed with the value and high quality of service we received for our money. I would very highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying the south Portland / Lake...
