I stayed here 3 nights as part of a wedding. After some searching I ended up booking directly through the hotel. Located next to the JW Marriott resort, it is just outside of the Summerlin district, about 16 miles from the airport. The Uber/Lyft from the airport was priced in the $45-61 range at noontime. | |I had a rough trip out, including a luggage issue, so when they allowed me to check in early I was very grateful. The room was spacious and adequately maintained. The bed is comfy enough - I give it a 4 out of 5. The AC cranks. The tub looked nearly antique. The hotel was built in 1999 but my guess was that it was older than that. The staff is friendly. My Only “complaint” is that the outlet situation is inadequate, particularly if you want to charge the phone by the bed. The lamp jack and the jack on the clock didn't work well. ||There's a mini fridge and safe in the room but no coffee machine. The Java Coffee shop is to the right of the front doors next to the casino, looking from the inside, and the coffee is excellent. The corner bagel shop serves coffee that is acceptable. It isn't bad, but it's not the same stuff as the Java coffee shop which closes before 3pm. At the corner bagel place the choices are coffee or no coffee. No cappuccinos or Americanos. I ate at Dupars and everything was prepared perfectly with the exception of the coffee which appears to be the same stuff as the corner bagel shop. By all means, eat at Dupars, but get your coffee at Java Vegas first if you can. | |My TV remote stopped working. Since I wanted to get a drink anyway and I didn't want to wait a long time for another remote, I took it down to the front desk hoping they could give me another one right away. They don't have anything there. Someone did come to my room immediately with another one. The issue turned out to be user error, though. The Ice bucket was blocking the signal, smh, so make sure you check for that first if there's a problem. ||The pool is a relaxing escape. It is accessed from the 2nd floor and you'll need your key to get in. The bar opens in the afternoon and the bartender there is an absolute doll. Tip her well! The curtained privacy beds can be rented but they are free with certain levels of food and beverage purchase. There's also a giant chess set. The pool is NOT heated, but the sun is so hot that the cold water was a needed cool down. ||Located on several acres, any other businesses are probably close to a mile walk. On-site they have several restaurants, a movie theater, and bowling. Overall, the place is nicely maintained and a good value. It doesn't have the hustle and bustle of the strip, which I found to be a nice break. It bears repeating that the staff is lovely. They have been selected for their amiable attitudes and trained very well. That is no small thing and I am very appreciative of the wonderful treatment I received. The staff is what makes me want to stay here again. ||Don't forget to tip...

Read moreWow ! A friend of mine that works here told me I could take my change here to cash it in for free. I had already told myself that I would tip the cage out 5% because I was saving money from the regular 11% the machines charge to change it over. When we arrived the cage ladies had NO ONE in line and made a BIG fuss over the amount of change I had. Saying they only take "small amounts" ... Well my small amount is different than yours so give me a dollar amount. They ended up spending about 5 minutes of their time painstakingly pouring it into an automatic machine and I would like to add that there were THREE of them standing around and the entire time they were helping us only ONE more person walked up to the window! The ladies were so rude and nasty to us!! Snarling their noses like crazy people and giving us nasty looks and slamming stuff around! They are in CUSTOMER SERVICE! I work for tips and I would NEVER treat a customer like this ! A five minute job they were getting paid to do PLUS A TIP upset then so badly they had to act like fools ! Even the hubs who never says a word bad about ANYONE was astonished and insisted I wrote a review! He even said that he has never seen anyone act so unprofessional in his life doing a job they are getting paid to do ! In the end I only have them about 2.5% tip and they didn't deserve that ! But as the lady was taking the tip she covers the money with her hand and says to me "next time small amounts". Again WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF SMALL!!?? Give me a dollar amount!! The attitude and rudeness of the ladies were absolutely shocking!! If I were in management I would be hiring an entirely new cage crew. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Adults throwing tantrums...
