Hey art enthusiasts and novices alike, listen up! I recently had the pleasure of attending a showing at Basner Fine Art gallery, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience.

Now, I must confess, I'm not what you would call an art connoisseur. But hey, I'm always up for exploring new things, so I decided to give it a go. The showing was well attended, and while the crowd seemed to be mesmerized by the artwork, I couldn't quite connect with it at that moment.

Determined not to let my lack of artistic appreciation dampen my spirits, I returned to Basner Fine Art gallery the following day for a private visit. And boy, oh boy, did they make me feel like a VIP!

From the moment I stepped foot in the gallery, it felt like I had an appointment to purchase everything in sight. The staff was incredibly gracious and helpful, going above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They patiently provided background information on each piece, helping me understand the stories behind them without ever making me feel silly for my lack of knowledge.

Even as someone who doesn't "do" art all that much, I found myself drawn to the beauty and creativity on display.

If I could give this artist and this gallery 6 stars I would. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, and valued... there was no looking me up and down, sizing up if I was serious or not... it was just "Hello, come in and enjoy the art"... no pressure. A piece caught my eye... I fell in love.. but I had to walk away.. it was over $5000 .. which in this gallery isn't even close to how high some pieces command.. however I left after they give me some information ... I couldn't get to my parked car before deciding to turn around and look at it one more time.. It was a photo of the interior of a well known library in Florence, Italy.. (BIBLIOTECA MARUCELLIANA) .. and it drew me in as if I was standing right there in the room... but at the same time it felt like I was looking at a painting by Van Eyck ... the detail and color just popped like it was an oil on canvas, but yet it was a photograph .. well, it was much more than this as the process is more like a painting than a chemical photo development process. Suffice it to say, I made the spontaneous decision to buy it... the Artist himself and his lovely wife worked with me thru the process and he agreed to come to my home and help me find an ideal spot and mount it... The service alone was 6 stars, but to add to this an amazing lifetime piece of art like this was...

Walking by, I casually stepped inside and was transported to a world of beauty and emotional depth. The photographs of Mario Basner are...and you have to see them yourself to understand why I use this word...respectful. The subject matter is unique, haunting, historical, aging, vibrant, and speaking to the viewer simultaneously.

A bonus is that there is zero sales pressure; it is simply an invitation to be absorbed by incredible beauty and chat with the artist himself.
