We had an awful experience unfortunately. We picked this hotel because it advertised an indoor pool, which we wanted for our young kids. Unfortunately, not only is the pool not heated and water feels nearly ice cold, more importantly, THE POOL ROOM ITSELF IS NOT HEATED. You absolutely cannot swim in there in offseason, it would be unsafe due to low temperature in the water and room. This clearly seems to be false advertising, however asking the hotel manager, they state that the website does not mention it is heated. But certainly it is misleading in that if you advertise an indoor pool, it is assumed that it is at least swimmable year round in safe temperatures. After discovering all this, we tried to check out immediately, wanting to change to a hotel that did have a functional pool. It was 2pm when we went straight to the desk from the pool area, still in our swimming suits, however they stated they would NOT reimburse us for the COMING NIGHT because we had already passed check out time! Which we had only barely missed as it was early afternoon. I explained profusely all the circumstances, we had checked in at midnight the night before and we’re just now getting to the pool, and came to check out as soon as we realized it was not swimmable (due to their false advertising I might add). I talked with the manager twice by phone, and she was just completely immovable. I also had Expedia talk with her via phone, I put nearly two hours into getting our money back. The hotel manager still refused to refund me for that coming evening, even given all those circumstances that I (and Expedia) were thoroughly explaining to her. Finally after all of it, she gave me 50% back for that coming evening (keeping 50% of that night’s charge even though we were leaving in the middle of the afternoon and wouldn’t be sleeping there). I have just never felt so disrespected and taken advantage of by a business. I do certainly understand there are check out time rules, but given all these factors, and not to mention the way the hotel was advertised - I just don’t know what to say and can’t believe we were made to pay for 50% of the coming night. Even worse than being ripped off, it just felt like I was being disrespected on a human level, like I had no value as a human being. That is just not a way to treat another person.
I see the hotel manager responds to these reviews, which I can appreciate. However I have talked with her quite a bit already, so I would like to ask her to please not answer unless she does decide to refund us. Wyndham or Expedia are also welcome to step in. I would also suggest to the hotel that it might consider if changes should be made to the way the indoor pool is advertised, so that future patrons are not put in this...
Read moreI would not give one star if zero was available. This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever had to stay at. I am shocked it carries the Days Inn logo. I don't think I will ever stay at a Days Inn again if this is the standards they permit. Shower - LOTS of mold on tile and around shower mat. Missing tiles around commode. Fridge - dirty. Microwave - looked like some food packet had exploded in there. Bugs visable in room. You get three stained towel per room regardless of how many guests are booked. You have to go ask for more and they give you exactly two. Mold in pool area. Pool smells really bad. Mold on furniture surrounding pool area. Fire Hazard - behind TV unit, multiplug with about seven things going into it - including microwave. If you try to use microwave, fuse blows. Another trip to customer service. By the way, you are an inconvenience to their TV or dinner - not a guest. I would have moved immediately to another hotel, but due to a fair in town, there was absolutely nothing available and I was there for a wedding - couldn't leave. Went to a nearby walmart - spent close to$100 on lysol spray, sheets to cover up beds etc. Nasty Nasty Nasty. Don't stay here. I spoke to other guest who all had identical types of problems with their rooms. I did not get a lemon, I got the norm for this hotel. Oh, and the chairs in the rooms had so many stains on them I wouldn't let anyone sit on them till I covered them with sheets - once again walmart ! I stayed there...
