I’ve been a regular guest at this hotel for the past 3 years. It’s never been fancy, and I’ve never expected it to be—but I always appreciated that the rooms were clean and functional. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill over my last few stays. The past time, I’ve been given room where the door lock doesn’t work, forcing staff to let me in every time I required. On my most recent stay, the bathroom tiles were shattered, making it a safety hazard—especially with my family there. Walking barefoot on wet bathroom floors with sharp, broken edges is a serious risk. When I reported this to the front desk a couple of hours after check-in, the receptionist simply told me I should have let them know earlier—which I had—and then said there were no other rooms available. On top of that, the lamp in the room didn’t even have lightbulbs or working outlet for charging. This used to be a place I could rely on for a simple but safe stay. Now, it’s disappointing and concerning that basic safety and maintenance are being neglected. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses these issues, because at this rate, I’m reconsidering returning.

Absolutely loved my stay. It was very last minute and pretty late when I booked and arrived. Easy to find with public transport and they have plenty of parking. Check in and check out was a breeze. I love that they do a $50 cash deposit instead of doing a hold on your card like 99% of others do. They also have an atm inside the lobby as well as coffee and tea 24/7. It was quiet and comfortable!!! Just what I needed to get a good nights rest. I was going to book another night before check out and was really disappointed to find they had no more rooms available for tonight. I guess when you run it as great as they do for the best price, you can only hope to snag a room! Yes, it’s a ways out of the city if you don’t have a car but it’s worth it in my opinion. I will be back!! Thank you Regal Inn!

I checked in late 10:30 on July 4th evening. booker room here for 2 days first they assigned us room #140 and we found lots of dead crawlers and mosquitoes in the room floor. they reassigned us new room #276 and we FOUND BED BUGS. YES BED BUGS. because my partner got huge bites on her body which i can’t share here and we captured photo of bugs. I can’t give negative otherwise i would have given -100 star to this. Our entire trip is ruined because of this hotel. Staff of the motel pretended they don’t know at all while searching for more google reviews i found lots of reviews with bed bugs and motel staff replied to that review with apologies. such a horrific place.

Sketchy property, dirty, infested and unkept rooms, with horrendous management. At least a dozen bikers sit in the parking lot all day and night, loitering on the stairs to the rooms and watching you as you come and go. The entire hotel room was damp (bed, floor, list goes on) my entire stay (almost a week, I wanted to leave but couldn’t get money back) and I had to buy a dehumidifier, but all my stuff was wet in the morning each day anyway. We had one soda (with lid on) on the counter and some fast food (properly put in trash) and the next morning our room was COVERED in ants! Ants all over the floor and table, I’ve attached pictures* All this not to mention unreasonable and ridiculous management. I was staying with my SO and we brought a friend over to hangout for a while, however, AS SOON as we walked in the room the in-room phone rang. Management called and first thing they said, without a hello, was “how many people are in your room” I told him my SO, I, and a friend visiting, and he immediately said “ONE OF YOU HAS TO LEAVE NOW, IMMEDIATELY”. All of this coming from management in an EXTREMELY condescending and rude/mean way and tone. I was baffled. There was a potentially dangerous large biker gang loitering in the parking lot and harassing guests overnight several days and he was calling me because I wasn’t allowed to have a guest over, even for a short period of time. I addressed this with management and they said the parking lot was public property, which it obviously is not. So not only are they inconsiderate, rude, and negligent, but they are also either liars or very very uneducated. Management forced my friend out who wasn’t even staying overnight, while the biker gang in the parking lot watched. Unbelievable. Avoid...

we knew we weren’t staying at the ritz but this experience was still a bit worse than i would have even expected. it had shockingly good reviews so i trusted it- and was wrong :( #1 it’s far away from downtown chicago. the hotel is not in a great area at all also, i didn’t feel totally unsafe but i didn’t want to walk around late at night. its about a 50 minute drive or hour + long bus and train ride into downtown. when we got there the AC was off in our room so it was super hot and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it back on because the buttons on the fan wasn’t working. we figured it out via thermostat but still the room never really cooled off the way i would have wished. i kept trying to reset the system and eventually was successful but it was towards the end of our stay anyway. we only stayed for two nights and got back quite late the second night and neither of our room keys worked. the office was closed but someone from the staff just happened to be walking around to let us in, said it had been “demagnetized” and offered no other apology or explanation, or new room keys. thankfully we were checking out the next day and didn’t need them but had we been staying longer we certainly would’ve needed new keys. the room was okay, a bit gross in the carpet and shower but the bed was clean and comfortable (i inspected sheets and mattress thoroughly). the deadbolt in our door didn’t work properly and i had to force it to turn, and it was prone to getting stuck. maybe bring a portable lock for the door for safety. overall not the worst if you just need a cheap place to sleep but i’d probably pick somewhere...
