Would NOT recommend staying here... TOO MANY BUGS! At first it was just moths. One dead one on the ground and at least 1 alive. I was grossed out/annoyed (a little) but I wasn't going to let it ruin my stay. Then I went into the bathroom and there was a millipede crawling around the floor. This didn't gross me out that much but still I was annoyed. "Ok whatever," I thought. Then I heard buzzing and looked up in the bathroom and there were lots of what looked like mosquitoes. I was actually starting to get really annoyed because I was reading the reviews and people complained about bed bugs and I was skeptical at first but I really wouldn't doubt those claims. I was actually so paranoid about these claims that I didn't use the bedding and just slept on the bed without removing the sheets. Continuing on my bug journey... I stumbled upon what looked like a black cricket under a chair. Later on when I went to get my shoes guess what I found inside of my shoe... THE BLACK CRICKET. After that I was SUPER ANNOYED and struggled to fall asleep. We did not keep the door open we came in and out (for people who are wondering). We ended up catching it and gave it a ride down the toilet. There were also some flies flying around and all I heard was buzzing while trying to sleep. It was also dirty and my socks were getting wet as I walked on the carpet...the bottom of our feet started to turn black (look dirty). The internet kept cutting in and out and it was just a rough stay. Look I get it, I didn't pay a ton of money for it but honestly I still think it should have been somewhat better/decent. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! Pay the little bit more money if you can, to sleep in a...
Read moreI was traveling through Liberal and wanted an older style motel where you park right outside your room so my car would be close by. I drove by the Kansan Motel and turned around and went back. The price was reasonable, so I stayed. The good: The room was clean, there was free wi-fi, the bed and bedding was way above the quality that I expected for the price. (the bed was as nice as some motels that I stayed at where the price was double what I paid at the Kansan. The bad: The bathroom was a mixed bag. Good quality faucet on the vanity, cheap toilet seat that needed to be tightened, and in the shower the hot water was on the right instead of the customary left side. That should be easy to fix as the plumbing has been re-done with cpvc in a soffit and running across the top of the ceiling. Easy access to switch sides on the hot water if the owner wants to. The furniture looked like it was collect from garage sales, but was clean and serviceable. Would I stay here again? Maybe. The Motel fit my needs at the time, and it had it's good features. I got a good night's sleep at a...
Read moreFor what we paid, I considered giving this 4 stars (or dots). This is one of about a dozen old roadside places on US 54, all of which look about equal in upkeep, etc. I'm pretty sure this was built as the Frontier, around the mid-'50s. It's been drastically remodeled, and the pool and western section of rooms are gone. It has a good location just a few blocks east of the bottom of the main drag up into town. We thought the neon-lit eaves were really charming. Our rate, on a Monday was just under $52, including tax.|||| The room was medium-size, and clean. The bathroom had nice new modern tile, which looked a bit DIY. Of course I was sad not to get an old tile bathroom. Fridge, microwave, flatscreen and wifi were all provided. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the room was quiet at night. Really all we could ask for, but the next time I might try the Ranch across the street just to...
