As a frequenter of Amigos establishments across the city and through the years, I'd like to think that I am qualified to cast stones here, and regrettably that is what it has come to.
Ive been to this location about 5 times in the last year since I started working nearby, always during slow times as that is when I'm odd work.
The quality of food is inconsistent. Sometimes passable, sometimes not. Service is passable as well, but only just so. My food will be forgotten sometimes, but I'm always taken care of when it is.
This would all be fine enough if it weren't for this location being the home of the franchise headquarters. I feel and would hope that this location should be held to a higher standard and have to wonder if the presence of the corporate office is affecting the service here negatively as every other amigos I've been to in the last year has had significantly better food and service than this one.
Specific comments to food quality, cheese bucket sits forgotten with a thick layer on top that must be scraped away, tacos are molten from excess heat and sometimes soft tacos baked to a distasteful crisp.
The employees themselves seem to be nice people and earnest, however this place could benefit from better leadership to guide it to success.
I do like their music selection. Haha......
Read moreI used to like most Amigo's generally, except for the drive up only stores during breakfast. Those stores are unspeakably evil refusing to take walk-up window orders from children, the elderly, handicaped, and everyone else who dared to showed up without a motor vehicle. This time the whole Amigo's company needs a reality check.
What Amigo's buyers and "chefs" call, "steak", and shamelessly charge us all 80 cents extra per taco for, is mostly just unpleasantly inedible gristle. The ground beef they've been tossin' in what had been a passable TVP mix for decades lately has been filled with more chewy blood vessels, tendon strings, bone fragments and other odd assortments of unknown organ chuncks than usual.
I won't be back until I find out they're serving semi-quality beef again and whomever decided raising prices while simultaneously lowering food quality to absolutely inedible levels was a good idea is nolonger making any decisions at...

I pull ahead and check my bag and there is no ranch. I pulled back around to the speaker and I inform the lady working that I did not get my ranches and she said no problem. Pull ahead to the window. There was a car waiting For food. Seems like what took forever. I pulled ahead when they pulled off and guess what nobody out the window. I had to wait for the guy sitting on his phone to finally look up after I honked multiple times. He finally gets my ranch. I get all the way back to Beatrice , and guess what my Crisp meats end up being crisp chickens . I tried calling the number for the store on South 14th and no answer. Very...
