My family and I recently stayed at your hotel due to its convenient location near the university where my son was attending a campus tour. While the online photos were appealing, our experience fell far short of expectations.
Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by a strong, unpleasant odor in the hallways—a cloying, powdery scent that caused headaches. The jacuzzi was out of service and covered, and the pool was visibly unclean, containing a significant amount of debris and appearing to be in need of thorough cleaning and filtration. The green grease water quality was unacceptable.
Additionally in our room, we discovered hair and insects in the bathroom. More seriously, my son found dried blood on his pillowcase in his separate room. This was deeply concerning and unsanitary.
Given the multiple hygiene issues, we chose to check out early. When we informed the front desk staff and presented the pillow with the dried blood, their response was inadequate, merely offering a replacement pillow instead of addressing the serious cleanliness concerns. Their refusal to provide the manager's name was also unacceptable.
The overall condition of your hotel was severely lacking in cleanliness and hygiene. We request a full refund for our stay, given the significant discrepancies between your advertised amenities and the actual conditions we encountered. We believe this experience warrants a thorough investigation into your housekeeping and maintenance practices. Next day update!! So, my wife called the number on your website, and things got a little… strange. The person who answered said they didn't know when the manager would be in, or even the manager's full name! She asked several times, and eventually, they mumbled something about the manager being "Paul," but couldn't even give a last name. She tried a few different approaches – even asking how they'd contact the manager in an emergency like a fire – but got nowhere. Finally, they claimed the manager's name was "Paul Paul," then admitted they only knew the first name and that the last name started with a "C." It was pretty unbelievable.
The whole interaction left my wife feeling like they weren't being upfront at all. They kept trying to handle her issue without actually getting the manager involved, even though it was clear they couldn't answer basic questions. To top it all off, she mentioned the place wasn't very clean.
Honestly, it sounds like your front desk needs a bit more training. It’s frustrating when you’re trying to get help and you're met with such uncertainty and a lack of...
Read moreThis place was probably lying the dirtiest hotel I have ever walked into. We were given 2 keys to room 228, we walked in and it was truly hard to breath in the room die to the overwhelming smell of urine. The toilet was running every 60 seconds because it clearly needed maintenance. To top it off the blankets, sheets and pillows all had stains from god knows what. I go and tell the front desk guy who was nice. He said try room 227. Gave me two keys and we entered. It did not smell of urine. But that is the only nice thing I could say about room 227. It too had dirty stain riddled blankets, sheets, and pillows. The pictures do not do it justice how dirty the beds were. There was dried spit on the mirror or at least that is what I am going to tell myself that it was. I go back to the front desk and tell the guy I just want a clean room. He apologized and said try room 205. Gave me two keys and we checked it out. My wife and I looked at each other and had a serious chat about whether or not we were OK staying in that room because at least there was only one stain on one of the beds. It was a 4"x4" stain. We agreed that if we are paying to stay at a hotel we at the very least want it to be clean. We packed up and left. There were drunk men in the parking lot walking around without shirts on wondering all over the place aimlessly. It was not at all a place we felt safe at. This was our earnest experience with this place and I hope it helps someone someday make up their mind on choosing this hotel or not. Had I of read this review I would not have chose to boom this hotel. It was the worst hotel experience I have...
Read moreI chose to stay in a Choice Hotel based on previous experiences in Rapid City SD and Wyoming. I expected a better experience all around for this being a Choice Hotel and am disappointed this hotel was not up to what I believed Choice Hotel standards to be. For the cost and the Choice Hotel name, I expected better. Prices offered online were not honored when I tried to check in. I expressed frustration with the price difference and the front desk person asked how much money I had and offered a cheaper price but it was still higher than what I saw online. The front desk person was polite but did not make me "feel welcome" like I have felt at other Choice Hotels. The next morning, the same front desk person told another guest his dog would scare other guests. There was absolutely NO reason for this other than the breed of the dog. The dog was very friendly, loving, and well-mannered. The front desk worker was helpful to me when I was confused about the waffle maker haha! The Door Swing Bar Lock Hotel Door Latch was broken so to feel safer, I put an ironing board in front of the door. The sheets and bed spread were stained. The room smelled stale and did not smell fresh. Despite the fact I had a do not disturb sign on the door, hours before check-out time, someone loudly knocked on my door. At check-in, I was told that even though signs said check out was at 11, check out time was actually 10am. This was an ok place to stay but likely I would not...
