Read moreI do not know how to even start this review. I am so upset, and I want to let anyone know who is staying to here to be aware.
We checked into this hotel Saturday for one night, as we were attending a wedding for our friends. It was a very short visit, and since we were not from the area the wedding couple had reserved rooms at this hotel.
Sunday morning as we were driving back to San Diego (4 hour drive), I received a call from the lady at the front desk asking if we took the pillows? I had no idea what she was talking about. I said we had 2 sleeping pillows on the bed, which were still on the bed, and a ugly brown throw pillow that was one the floor. That was it and we hung up.
A little while later I had a missed voicemail from the owner Randy. His message states if you inadvertently took the pillows let us know and we will refund you the money. We charge $40 per pillow, and we will be charging $80.
I called him back immediately and he was no longer in the office. I called back a little later, and still no Randy. I have now called back again today which is now Tuesday, and Vera said he is out of town.
They claimed that there is 4 pillows on the bed and after we left there were 2. Randy went on to say that Gloria triple checked and there were 4 pillows, all on my voicemail.
Sounds like they may be hard up for money, and since we cannot prove we did not take the pillows, they can go around and just charge you.
If you have to stay here please take before and after pictures of your room. I don't want anyone else to have to go through this harassment. I have never stolen anything in my life, let alone some cheap pillows.
This sounds like a scam, this hotel will call you once you check out and claim things are missing.
I called and disputed this with my bank. I don't know how to prove we did not take two limp pillows. This hotel was like staying at a Motel 6, and these were not...
Read moreCharacter building. We were witness to the famous "breakfast the day after Independence Day 2019", a Friday, when the breakfast service had been scheduled to terminate at 9AM, leading to chaotic scenes and harrowing ordeals for most guests who predictably converged on the cafeteria at 8.45AM and found a single server and two chefs attempting to provide breakfasts made to order from the excellent menu for the entire horde of drowsy guests. Our party of four were unfortunate to have to wait two hours before we received our orders. We were quite jealous to overhear other patrons complaining about their mere one and a half hour waits. We did eventually enjoy our excellent bacon and sausage sandwich, two omelettes and a hash brown, hot from the kitchen. Plus we also received another two omelettes that the server sympathetically gave us that presumably somebody else had ordered many hours before before abandoning them. Our room had a microwave and jolly paintings on the wall which appeared to be originals by a quite talented friend or relative of the owner. I enjoyed watching Dunkirk on the HBO movie channel, which had been kindly subscribed to on behalf of the guests. I believe watching those dramatic portrayals of the heroism involved in Operation Dynamo and making occasional trips across the hazardous carpet may have imbued me with yet more courage and fortitude. And with the thin walls, people walking along the outdoor corridor past our window could be quite perturbing. In the end I did sleep well (mainly thanks to the excellent nearby brewery), I enjoyed a hearty breakfast and have since discovered in myself a newfound resilience to adversity, so all in all it was a quite rewarding...
