I find myself in a dilemma as I write this review because, in short, the food and tea at this establishment are fantastic, but the service has been among the worst I've ever encountered. Despite giving this place a second chance, it has consistently failed in the service department.
The first instance involved an online order for curbside pickup. Upon arrival during normal operating hours, we discovered the store was closed. After waiting for at least five minutes, the man responsible came out and apologized, stating he forgot to turn off online ordering, and promised a refund. We made a trip across town for no reason and waited three days for our money to be refunded.
Undeterred, we decided to give it another shot in person, especially after seeing on social media that they acknowledged their service issues and claimed to have hired help to address them. Unfortunately, our optimism was misplaced. Despite calling ahead to place an order and confirming they were open, we arrived 25-30 minutes later only to be informed that our order was not ready and the man, appearing flustered and unprepared to run the business, had to run to the store to get a cucumber for our order. During this time, his daughter was left in charge, and it took an hour for us to receive two tea boxes, despite only seeing one other customer in the store.
Upon the man's return, there was no apparent handwashing or cucumber washing, which was concerning. However, once we finally delved into the food, the experience improved. The cinnamon rolls, hyped for a reason, were delicious, and the tea sandwiches and birthday cake tea were also excellent.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere wasn't to our liking, with loud children and decor reminiscent of the 90s. I am still confused by previous reviews stating it appeared clean. The disorganized shelves of disarranged boardgames proved otherwise. Despite the great food, the two terrible service experiences have deterred us from returning. It's a shame because, with improved service, we would absolutely frequent this place for its...
Read moreBAD, BAD👎 IT'SCHANGED NOW! I've been about five times and have referred friends and eaten with friends at this coffee shop, not anymore. Thier supposed to be Christian base, but yet they give a bad name for Christians. First, over charge their pricing and don't charge the price that's on the menu or the menu price on the wall. I've had to correct the cashier every time. They say their menu prices have changed, just not put up their new prices. Why haven't they posted the new prices and yet they charge you the new price at checkout. Well, the prices are extremely high for the amount served. Sadly to say my last visit, my meal was served raw, who serves raw eggs and when I addressed it to the owner rather then preparing a new dish all he did was warm it up. Again, it was still served returned raw. I left the rest of the meal and the portion I did eat, made me sick...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious! Lompoc desperately needed a place like this. The coffee is delicious (and they even have the creamiest oat milk as a non-dairy option!) I have fallen in love with their fudgy hot chocolate & mochas.
The quiche & potatoes special is my very favorite! It's delicious and filling. My hubby and son love the soups (and they're all made from scratch!!)
They even have fresh baked pretzels, scones, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes & cookies. Seriously, so many good things!
We love the family nights. Hubby and the boys use the pool table, and I hang out on the couch drinking tea. Perfection right...
