Loved my experience and meal until i went up to the counter to ask for more butter for my waffle. I was not trying to impose, but the waitresses were all busy and I knew they wouldn't be back by our table for a few minutes and my husband and I were running close on time to get to his grandma's celebration of life. I stood there smiling at each of the three waitresses as they each turned to see me standing there waiting, each turning back to their task after meeting my eyes, each saying nothing to me, simply continuing their conversation. Only after the 5th time the three waitresses made eye contact then turned back around to ignore me and continue their conversation, did I say in a slightly raised voice, with a smile on my face, excuse me, may I please have some butter. The waitress assigned to us, turned, gave me a shocked look, then handed me butter with no word uttered. I went back to my table and told my husband about the interaction, while buttering my waffle. Halfway through telling him, I was interrupted by one of the three waitresses, wearing a gray pullover sweater, overweight, caucasian in her 40s, shouting at the back of my head, not even coming around to speak to my face, that she "didn't have time to help" me with "whatever I wanted" earlier so I could "stop bitching" until my waitress was able to help me. I didn't even turn around, she waited for no response. I lost my appetite and it ruined my experience. When I asked to speak with a manager on our way out, I was told rudely that if I had a problem i could "leave a note." No apology, nothing but rudeness. I waitressed for over a dozen years while in high school as well as while putting myself through college. I was always trained in, and held in high importance, customer satisfaction, and never, not even when I was yelled at, cussed at, grabbed, or otherwise mistreated, did I treat my customers like that. Read more“the budget cafe” = name speaks for itself! but, and this is a big but, it’s a decent place to eat if the universe lines all the stars up for that day and the servers and kitchen staff are in a good mood and ready to pump out some good food. such as the day my great niece and i came in for breakfast. the place had already emptied out from the morning rush of locals and we were the only customers there. the server was nice until she started talking with us and then she became very attentive and happy. it’s no loss on me it was because of my darling little 4yo great niece. i told her mother, my niece, that wherever i can take ‘willow’, i’ll be pretty much guaranteed to at least get a conversation with or even get a date with a woman, be it in a diner, park, beach, church or anywhere there are single ladies looking for the opportunity to meet a single man. anyway im getting away from the budget cafe. so i had eggs bacon waffle. the eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, i couldn’t believe it but ill take it. i love crispy bacon and i got crispy bacon as i asked for. my little niece had pancakes from the kids menu with scrambled eggs and she ate every bit of it. you know little kids, they seldom finish any meal. that’s about all. if i had simply wrote a review of the budget cafe it would only be three sentences long because, well, because it’s the budget cafe and to a bigger extent, it’s lompoc, if you get my drift. so, here’s a few pictures of that morning with my precious little niece and I at the budget cafe in beautiful...

We went last night for dinner. The waitress was so busy caking with some dude at the bar, she couldn't post attention. She brought our salad and upon the first bite you could tell it was old. The lettuce tasted like it had been frozen, then thawed. Gross. We called the waitress back over to let her know... her response " oh, ok". She took the salads and never offered to bring up anything else is return. My partner order the Steak and Shrimp dinner. 25 minutes later is brought to the table with NO STEAK. My partner reminds her that there should be steak. The waitress says " well you got lucky. The cook put 2 extra shrimp on the plate. I'll let him know to make the steak now. "
Bad experience and the lack of response to the negative comments from the company let's me know they could care less.
It's Budget for a reason... spend a couple of dollars more and get yourself a better and complete meal and better...
