This hotel ABSOLUTELY OVER-CHARGES. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $124 A NIGHT JUST SOLELY BECAUSE OF THE DANGEROUS, UNSAFE AREA AND ALSO BECAUSE IS NO-NAME HOTEL. This is more of a motel and offers nothing to warrant $124/night. Erth Inn is located in very distressed, unclean, unsafe area. Dirty in front of hotel. It is not safe to walk around area at all, particularly at night. YOU ARE SAFE AS LONG AS YOU REMAIN INSIDE THE ROOM. There is no skyline view. Hotel manager is not customer-oriented. Manager has zero EI. NO LOBBY. I'VE NEVER SEEN A HOTEL WITH NO LOBBY AREA. I've left messages for hotel manager for a call-back. NO RETURN CALL AT ALL. Hotel manager TOTALLY IGNORED MY PHONE MESSAGES I LEFT. Very rude and unprofessional. DEMONSTRATES THIS HOTEL MANAGER NEITHER VALUES I NOR MY BUSINESS, paticularly for my repeat business. The rooms are decent but very old, out-of-date furniture, with plumbing and maintenance issues -- very low water pressure and water-temperature issues. It takes a while before water gets hot. Very old soap dispener. You have to press old soap-dispenser lever 1,000 times literally because the soap dispenser dispenses extremely small amount of soap. No holding lever and soap keeps coming out. During my stay, ceiling caved in during rainstorm, water all over the floor. I thought it was rain hitting window. Turned out that ceiling caved in. Toilet backed up and water all over the bathroom floor, and homeless people knocking on my room door at 3AM. The elevator is accessible to public. No security. The hotel manager NEVER apologized, discounted room rate, NEVER DID ANYTHING to make it right. This hotel manager is only about greed. If anyone has a room to rent, please contact me. I'm here on assignment. I'M...
Read moreOur experience at this hotel was disappointing and concerning. The neighbourhood surrounding the hotel is quite rough and feels unsafe, especially at night. Walking to the nearest 7-11 for essentials was an uncomfortable experience, with people wandering the streets and approaching passersby. It was pretty alarming that there wasn't a proper reception area, towards the end of our stay, the elevator reeked of urine and the floor was wet, it was really disgusting & the staff tried to cover the smell with some air freshener the next day, but it's just making it worse. People won't need a keycard to use the elevator, and without a reception area/ lobby, we even heard someone running and shouting in the hallway one night. I attempted to inform the staffs about this issue using the phone in the room, but it didn't work regardless of which button I pressed. Then, I tried calling the number provided on their website, but there was no response. It felt like someone could break into the room in the middle of the night. Despite closing the windows, noise from passing cars disrupted our sleep. The heater/fan got a burning plastic smell, rendering it unusable and leaving the room feeling stuffy. The towels and sheets provided also had stain on them, we asked for more towels, but they also had a strong bleach smell and got makeup stains and dirt on them. Overall, we cannot recommend this hotel due to its unsafe surroundings and lack of security measures, leaving us feeling disappointed and concerned...
Read moreI decided to write a review after reading some of the most recent reviews and recommending this place to a friend who also read them and expressed concern . I'm not sure what people are expecting when they pay under $200 a night in LA but this is what you get. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times when I was visiting LA and looking to buy a home. The neighborhood is sketchy (the first time I Uber dropped me off I was a little bit freaked out but I wasn't stepping over homeless people to get to the check-in Window either) and I never felt unsafe. You wouldn't walk around after dark it almost any area of LA so use good common sense . Downtown is even worse with its multimillion dollar condos and 5 star hotels at night in terms of homeless issues. I never recommend anyone stay there.
If you're looking for a budget hotel that serves your needs to have a place to sleep on a comfortable bed with free parking/minifridge then this is a great option. If you're wanting a lot of four and five star amenities then you should go someplace else and spend five times the amount, but I guarantee you're not going to be walking around in those areas after hours either. I now live in LA and this is where I recommend people stay when they come...
