My family and I stayed here for 3 days from February 25th, and used the hotel as a base to explore Los Angeles. The location is good and you are never more than 30 minutes from anywhere of note.||When I checked in, I was informed that breakfast was from 7am to 9am in a small room to the left of check in, on the first morning (Friday) this was the case. The breakfast was basic (2 types of cereal and pastries, coffee and tea), but enough for our needs as we don't tend to eat much until dinner. The next morning (Saturday), the room was locked and there was no-one present on check in. I tried at 07:00, 07:30, 08:00 and 08:15 before giving up and sourcing breakfast somewhere else.||The next day (Sunday) was the same. We were leaving this day anyway, so upon checking out I challenged the guy on why no breakfast was provided, he informed me that the rules change at weekends and they provide breakfast at 08:30 on Saturday and do not provide it at all on Sunday.||When I asked him why he told me 7am to 9am, he couldn't answer me. It was a blatant attempt to get out of providing a breakfast. This gentleman outright lies to me and I can tolerate a great deal, but I cannot tolerate liars, so I would advise against staying in this motel on this basis.||Other things to note about the stay:||The room was not cleaned once in the three nights||They cut the Wi-Fi off after 48 hours, leaving us without internet for 12 hours. No-one was present on check in to resolve this, not a big deal but as with breakfast, I would appreciate the advertised amenities being available, this is what you pay for after all||The bathroom had a great deal of mold in it, I dread to think how many mold spores I make have inhaled||The lights wrapped around the tree outside of our room (Room 6) created a daylight effect, even with the curtains shut, disturbing sleep a little bit.||Pay slightly more and stay elsewhere, preferably where the staff have integrity||I'm not a particularly picky person and admittedly I probably would not have left a review but for the whole ordeal over breakfast, I cannot stand liars and those with no integrity so here is my honest review.||Thanks for taking the...
Read moreMy first two goals as a single mom traveling with my daughter are both cleanliness and security. On these I would rate my experience at a 9.
PROS: The staff was friendly and competent. The motel was easy to find. The parking is clean and literally just steps from my door. *BONUS Lots of foliage around perimeter, so the atmosphere feels enclosed and quaint, dissipating the noise from nearby traffic. Big flat screen TV on the wall. Great Wi-Fi Reception. *FREE Wall mirrors to help make the room feel larger. An unexpected perk- THE SHOWER PRESSURE WAS AWESOME! My shower at home isn't this great!
CONS: The room was very small but for my 17 year-old daughter and I, it was perfectly accommodating - not good for larger families. When booking the room it shows that there is NOT a free breakfast, however at arrival the gentleman at the front desk invited us for breakfast in the morning (7am - 9am). Don't get your hopes up, your choices are prepackaged pastries and cold cereal (cheerios or corn flakes) and orange juice. Since I hadn't anticipated breakfast in the first place I really can't complain. It's actually quite comical, but there is a tiny closet for hanging clothes, however it is blocked by the mini fridge / microwave unit. So if you need closet space you'll have to do some rearranging. The decor is a bit outdated, but for us that's unimportant. The bed is very stiff, so if you're like me and you need a softer mattress this is not the place for you, however my daughter loved it and slept quite comfortably!
Overall, for $68 it met my essential needs and I was...
Read moreI suppose I shouldn’t of expected a pleasant stay here after being booked in a smoking room, but that was my own mistake … however that does not excuse the long list of problems that followed:
This is a 14 room establishment. With that little capacity, I do not understand why the quality of linens were so poor. It was like drying off with sand paper. Would it kill you to buy some decent towels or at the very least, use fabric softener?
This however is just the tip of the iceberg. The pillows have probably not been replaced since the day this place opened. Pancake pillows to say the very least… the blanket was no better .. but wait there’s more ..
The air conditioner has 2 settings: on or off. It didn’t matter if we put it on low or high, either way you were either freezing with it on, regardless of temperature, or sweating with it off.
The TV stopped working 4 nights in, and that cable box is propped up against the back of the TV, so using the remote is a nightmare since you cannot directly point the remote at the box.
Every time we walked past the bed frame and brushed against it in the slightest motion, it sounded like we kicked an empty keg, a booming tin sound that would reverberate through the air.
And the absolute worst is the chain “lock” that was falling out of the wall. I had to sleep with a the chair propped up against the door to feel any security while staying here.
All in all, you get what you pay for. But truthfully, why go...
