Finally was able to come here after hearing so much great things. Donuts looked AMAZING. Got a blueberry cake, red velvet cake, double chocolate cake, and the Sāmores donut. Skip my āsmallā review and go towards to the end to see my overall experience.
Blueberry cake donut: very delicious. Great blueberry taste. Sweet, soft, not dry. Would get again
Red velvet cake donut: okay. Not overly sweet, soft, not dry. Wish the frosting/icing was a sweet cream cheese flavor. Would not get again
Double chocolate cake donut: okay. Nothing special. Not overly sweet. Mild chocolate flavor. A little dry. I thought dipping this one in coffee would make it taste good. It didnāt. Would not get again
Sāmores donut: Was very excited for this one. A glazed donut filled with Nutella and toasted marshmallows. Top with toasted marshmallows, graham crackers crumbs, and chocolate icing. Honestly? Pretty disappointing. Nutella was overpowering. Couldnāt taste the crumbs nor the toasted marshmallow. Basically a glazed donut filled with Nutella. Would not get again.
Overall good experience. Ate inside the shop. The worker guy (didnāt catch his name) was pretty cool. Answering all my donut questions because there was some unique donuts that Iāll never seen or heard of. Okay price. With the four donuts and a small cup of coffee, total was $15. Unfortunately was not lucky enough to get a free donut like some have mention theyāve gotten. Thatās okay. Definitely going to comeback because thereās some donuts I would like to try (looking at you Reeseās donut) and while eating there a lot of people were getting the ham and cheese croissant. Going to have to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn my experience, there are generally two types of donut shops: inexpensive classic donuts in a no-frills atmosphere or more expensive elaborate donuts in a coffee-shop like atmosphere. This place is somewhere in between. They have many elaborate, creative creations, from Sesame Street inspired donuts to an entire cart of Valentineās day donuts. The prices are mid-range (my berry custard croissant donut cost $4.50). The atmosphere, however, more closely fits a no-frills shop. The store has some basic melamine tables in a small, undecorated dining area, and they sell lottery tickets. The customer ahead of me in line said that this place used to just sell more basic donuts, so my guess is theyāve branched out in the last few years. They seem to specialize in croissant donuts, and the one I got was delicious! The glaze was sweet, the outside was crunchy, and the inside was soft and flaky. The donut was sturdy enough to hold the custard inside and the donut was so thick I could just barely get my mouth around it. Iād come here again to try out more of their flavors...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally don't review at all until it's absolutely necessary. I'm 21 and working hard at a full time job earning my money. I went to Colorado Donuts this morning and paid and sat down where there is an OPEN table. Around a little under 10 minutes pass and a family comes in and buys their donuts. Nothing wrong until a middle aged worker comes in and taps on the table loudly out of nowhere telling me to move to a table where there is another customer already there so the family could sit down. Basically telling me to move to the other customers table uninvited... HELLO?. Whether the situation or not, you do not kick me out of a table that I took first. It's not like I was there for 20 - 30 minutes because I can understand that, but I was there for a little under 10 minutes which is ridiculous. You chose to kick me out because you think it'd look bad on your store if you didn't. The donuts are your typical ones you can get anywhere but with the service you gave to me now it...
