I expect to be refunded the full cost of my stay in this miserable place.||On Wednesday, September 27 2023, I made a reservation. My reservation was for a 2 night stay in a 1 Queen room checking in on Friday 11/3/2023 and checking out on Sunday, 11/5/2023. The location was 1440 Pacific Coast Highway; Harbor City California. Phone number is 310.530.8300||The invoice for this reservation was:| Room Rate - USD $114| Bed Tax 14% - USD $31.92| Total for Stay - USD $259.92||When we arrived at the hotel, the desk clerk asked, “Would you like to have a larger bed? It will be much more comfortable for you.”||When I declined her offer, she then informed me that there was no Queen room available. However, she would give me the “opportunity” to pay the additional cost to stay in a King room. At the last minute, I was trapped into acquiescing and paying the additional cost she demanded. She changed the amount of additional cost several times saying that she was now “discounting” the additional cost which ultimately was $25.08 more than the original price quoted.||The reasonably sized room was cold and uninviting. Hard flooring, only 2 outlets, only one overhead light. Not even lamps on the night stands. The ONLY good thing about this place was that the Housekeeping Team kept this place sparkling clean. You could walk across the spartan room and your feet were clean.||The following morning, we opened the door to leave and there was a bundle of blankets blocking the exit. We noticed that there was a foot poking out of the bundle and realized that it was a person in the bundle. ||When I called down about the situation, the same desk clerk answered the phone. I told her that there was a person blocking the door and that we could not exit. She responded, “Oh, the homeless guy is there?” She was unsurprised and she was unconcerned. When I requested that someone address the situation she said, “I will call the maintenance man, but he lives in another town and it will take some time for him to arrive.” When I asked how much time, she refused to give me an answer. We needed to leave so we addressed the situation ourselves waking the gentleman who promptly got up and moved.||We then left for a few hours and when we returned we got a call from the clerk who told us that we could move to a Queen room. No offer to compensate us for the change was made. I told her that we were not interested in the additional inconvenience of having to change our room. Her voice indicated that she found this irritating, but said nothing more.||Later that evening, the “Homeless Guy” returned, but was gone when we woke up. We left Sunday morning 11/5/2023 at 9:45 a.m. when we were...
Read moreThis is a small motel on a busy noisy street. The room itself was fine. The bed was comfortable although there was no blanket on the bed, only some very thin bedspread that was almost like a disposable table cloth material. There was no blanket anywhere in the room. Shower was good though the grout needed cleaning. | It was nice to have the refrigerator and microwave. There were no wash cloths in the room when we arrived but the housekeeping staff brought some the next day when they changed out the towels. Hopefully they didn't think that they were missing because we took them; we never notified them about the missing towels since we didn't need them. However, there is very little sound insulation so even though we had a room on the farthest side from the street, you could hear constant road noise. That didn't disturb my sleep since it was fairly constant, but the people in the adjoining rooms did. People were up and using the shower around 5 am and 6 am, and the plumbing was loud. We could hear footsteps upstairs, and cars in the parking lot as the early risers left. Also, even though there is free coffee in the tiny lobby, the lobby was locked at 8 am with no...
Read moreFirst thing their official site lists is "24 hour reception desk" and it couldn't more wrong. This hotel is not for you if you're a relatively light sleeper. You hear the main road all night and anyone outside. One night someone had locked their little dog in a room and barked ALL NIGHT. I tried calling the front desk about 3am and several more times until a little 4:30am to see if they could call the room or the occupant to solve the problem. They never answered. They also weren't around at 6am for me to check out to make my flight. The guy at the front was friendly, but when you really needed assistance, it wasn't there at "24 hrs" like the wyndham official states. I heard several other occupants go outside the night of the dog barking to investigate. It was the worst night sleep ever. Rooms were ok, pillows were lumpy and small square shape. Bathroom is huge compared the over all room. Floors were DIRTY. My feet were covered in black grime following a shower. Sink was missing a plug so anything could have fallen down in the hole. Location on the other hand, is decent. Along Pacific Coast highway and lots of eateries and shops...
