Vienna Pastry — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This is literally my favorite bakery! My whole family (I have a big one) and I get cake from here for every celebration, no exceptions! I have been meaning to post this for a while but I just never know where to start....I will start with customer service: you will always be greated and assisted by a friendly member of the Vienna family. There was a little amount of time the original location closed, to relocate, I thought they closed down for good and I was soo devastated! So ofcourse I left a voicemail expressing how sad this made me (I was not expectingto be contacted) and I thankfully got a message letting me know they are just moving locations and i would be notified of the new address once settled....lo and behold I did get the a followup with the new address! Like I said before this bakery has been a big part of my family and they certainly make you feel like their family. Now the goodies! Everything is always fresh and made with love. Vienna Pastry is a gem in the neighborhood!

I recently moved to the area and was craving a good chocolate cake. I stumbled on this place and the owner told me that they used to be on Santa Monica for 75 YEARS but during the pandemic, they had to move out. They are now located inside a building on wilshire and bundy.

The owner is so nice and he explained to me the different types of cakes and pastries they offer in store. He told me that the previous owner was from Vienna and that his family took over afterwards.

I got the chocolate mousse cake and it was so so good. It wasn’t super sweet at al. The flavor was a balance of chocolate, coffee, and salt. The cake texture was soft and the frosting was creamy instead of grainy like the ones you get from the market.

The owner also gave me a fruit tart and yum! The crust was solid and not soggy, the creamy was not super sweet, and the fruit was fresh and cut fresh daily.

The folks at Vienna Pastry are the best! I found them a couple years ago after calling around trying to find a bakery who does whipped icing. Surprisingly a lot of bakeries didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and Vienna Pastry knew right away.

I’ve been using them for birthday cakes ever since.

They’re very flexible with any requests, and will work with you on cake designs. Aside from the decoration, the cakes are delicious. Everyone always loved the taste when we have birthday parties.

This year, I requested the cake only a week ahead with a somewhat complicated design (I wanted an icing rendition of my two dogs) and they fulfilled the order beautifully and I was so impressed and happy with the result!

The final and best reason I love this bakery is because their prices are SO reasonable. Other bakeries I’ve worked with charge close to $100 for a premade design for a small cake.

With Vienna, we’ve gotten medium to large cakes with custom designs for...
